Background Story
In early March, Krystin started vomiting and having headaches. She went to the Doctor 4 times within the month trying to figure out what was causing it. We thought maybe sinus problems causing the headaches and drainage causing the vomiting. Then, on April 5th, 2008, we noticed her closing one eye to watch television. When we asked her why she said that if she didn't then she saw two of everything. It was late at night and we decided to wait until morning to see how her vision was. It wasn't any better by morning. So, on April 6th, I took her to Walker Baptist Medical for a C.T. scan. They eventually sent us to Children's for an M.R.I. On April 7th we were told by her neurosurgeon that she had a tumor. On the 9th, Dr. Satchivi removed the tumor and told us they believed it to be Medulloblastoma, but would have to wait for the pathology report to confirm. On April 17th, the hospital called to tell us it was in fact cancer, and that it had anaplastic features, which means it's aggressive and we will have to fight it hard. Even still, there is a 30-40% chance of the tumor coming back, and it could come back anywhere in her central nervous system. So now, we do what we have to, and we fight.
