Politics: Obama bows to Saudi king

Was it in the direction of Mecca? :)

He's not a Muslim! Or a Muslin! Or a sheet! Or a tablecloth! And he does not wear a tablecloth on his head! And he had his shoes on!

Get your facts straight mister!

Slab,

I understand that it is difficult for you to address criticism regarding Obama. "But, look what Bush did..." comebacks are one way to handle it. That's your prerogative.

While I would not recommend lip kissing other leaders, I can say with complete conviction that I'd rather see any president kiss the king on the lips than bow deeply before him (figuratively kissing his hiney).

So, in the spirit of actual discussion, some questions for you, if you can handle them:

1. What is your opinion of the Bush/king kiss?

2. Was Obama's bow a bad idea, or just fine, in your view?

3. Aren't you a little disappointed to see Obama attempt this little bit of chicanery, the "it wasn't really a bow.." nonsense?

4. Or, are do you actually believe it?

Well, i guess the proper modicum of respect is to kiss the prince on the lips:

Why not? All the cool kids are doing it...

If haven't figure my schtick out by now, I poke fun at this manufactured "crises".

He must be doing an ok job if all his critics can carp about is how he shakes folks' hands, what's in his NCAA brackets, or which TV shows he watches.

I think we all have long understood the shtick, I was just interested in trying to get you real opinion on the questions I posed. I'm disappointed that the shtick doesn't allow you to give real opinions.

My opinion is self-evident. That it's all pretty ridiculous.

Or just go for a walk in the park, holding hands:

Well if I had to choose the kiss on the lips as you posted or a kiss on the behind as I posted, well I'll take neither. Look the bow isn't what I think was stupid, it's the lies. Can you look at the video and say he didn't bow like the White House has done. The bow wasn't the smartest thing to do but I blame that on the people advising him more than I do him. Nobody can know the proper things to do for every occation but to have Gibbs come out and say that he didn't bow is like saying we are too stupid to know any better. How would you feel if you came home and caught your husband/wife in a compromising position with your best friend and then just flatout lied about what you just saw.

Oh yeah, the walk in the park thing, you wouldn't expect Bush to give him a kiss like that and not at least walk him to the door would you.

and the door finally opens

.... but , he was born , named , raised and educated as a Muslim so what about those facts and what does that make BHO other than obviously a non-practicing Muslim ?

It's no different than when a Protestant marries a Catholic(or vice-versa) and attends a Catholic church for reasons of convenience , family harmony or even for future acceptance . At least they'll admit they aren't Catholic (or vice-versa) .

Just trying to advance a little truth .

Hey, I resemble that remark. I still want to kiss CT though.

Hey, I resemble that remark.

Same goes for many of my buddies as the wife and her wishes often rule . Especially when it comes to choosing a church . Which is cool so long as they're still allowed to slip out on the town with me for a few cold ones every now and then

Uh, no. It is different, because Obama has been a practicing Christian for years. If a convert to catholicism enters a Catholic church, the fact that the convert once had a different faith doesn't really impact the ability to participate in the Mass.

If someone converts from, say, Catholicism to Episcopalian, what is a more accurate label for that person: Episcopalian or non-practicing Catholic?
