I'm sure Coach Saban will have Bama ready, but FIU could be tougher than most Bama people think.

What do YOU think?

Even if we didnt have a game under our belt already, we are going to plow them. This will be FIU's first game of the season. Look for them to be sloppy. I'm thinking 56-3.

I honestly dont know anything about them so far. I remember they were the team that got in the big fight with Miami a few years ago, and I know this is the school that just hired Isiah Thomas to be its basketball coach.....but I can't imagine if we play disciplined football that this would be any kind of test. I think the only team that can beat us this week is ourselves.

Only if Bama comes out absolutely sleep-walking.

If that happens we could put in almost the entire 2nd/3rd string and win by 21 (which I would not hesitate to do). Those guys should get a good bit of playing time in any case.

Wow, not the replies I expected.

Yeah, it's very true that we should beat them handily. But, lets not get ahead of ourselves. CNS would tell us "1 week at a time". Each and every game is a test. FIU is a pretty decent program on the rise. Remember, we have been beat by La Tech/Central Florida/La Monroe in the recent past. Let's not be arrogrant about ANY team.

Having said that, I think we'll beat them by 31+

Roll Tide Roll!

This will be our first home game...no way we take them lightly. This Saturday is the reason everyone wants to come to play for Alabama. They want to run out of the tunnel in BDS and hear that crowd roar. They want to hear the cheers and see the crimson and white everywhere. I don't know if you remember from the Iron Bowl last year...but when it looked like we were putting it on cruise control...CNS got in everyone's faces and let them have it. You play with 100% intensity every play...or you don't play.

All that said...I see this being another Western Kentucky like last year. We will see guys deeper in the depth chart making big plays...and will get to see some of these younger guys proving why they were so highly touted by recruiting services.

TY Hilton could make us all very upset a few times, but we'll pound them regardless.

We SHOULD handle them with no problem. But I won't be surprised if Bama plays down to Fla Intl's level. How many times have we seen the Tide do that.

Yea I was thinking the same thing about North Texas. I don't see any of the next 2 really giving us any problems, we should be able to get some 2nd stringers a good bit of playing time the next two weeks.

And fine tune our problem ares before we hit out SEC schedule.

In his postgame remarks aired yesterday, Saban said that he was going to play a lot of players, I presume, in this game.

You can't just roll your helmet out there, but guys, this is a deep, pretty powerful football team, and most of the second team and third team players might be as good as this opponent's first team.

I would like to see Jackson, Darrah, Richardson, Nico Johnson, Tana Patrick, and Dre Kirkpatrick each for a quarter.

If the first team underperforms the first half, Saban will chew on them at halftime.

We should roll handily. But we did throw up a sub-par game against a horrible Tulane team last year after the opener against Clemson.

We should be fine, though. But ya still have to play the game and execute. Can't just show up. I'm sure we'll execute just fine, though.
