Just Curious.

I've really been getting increasingly aggravated at Muslim extremists lately. And I just can't seem to have a good conversation with anybody about this issue.

The whole "Killing in the name of Allah" and the censorship of Muhammad. Suicide Bombers. (I just watched Hurt Locker) I've really had enough. I'm sick of these religious fanatics pushing their ideologies on me. I don't care that women aren't supposed to show their faces or ankles or whatever, I don't care that South park wants to make fun of Muhammad, I don't care I am, by their definition, an infidel. I'm NOT Muslim, I don't give a rats @** what they believe in. Don't get me involve.

Maybe it's just me? It's just like Homosexuals. They're gay, I don't care. Have fun, Be Gay, as long as your happy, just don't touch me in a sexual way and we'll be cool.

I did some research today, and apparently

Momma always said, don't talk about politics or religion, cause you never know who your gonna offend. But Politics are always talked about on here. So I figure this is as good of place as ever to bring up religion.
 
First of all you can't have the discussion without acknowledging that plenty of Christians have "killed in the God" throughout history.

That being said I used to believe the line that Islam was a religion of peace and there were only a few bad apples with a perverted version that involved killing innocents, suicide bombers, etc. I believe that is no longer the case. Sure there are plenty of Muslims that aren't going to blow me up, but the velocity of radicalization has become scary. I don't think you can say any longer that it is a FEW bad apples.

Agreed. I usually play the Devil's Advocate in defending Islam here, but I hope these jokesters drawing pictures of Allah increase. What makes Islam any different in ridicule than other religions?

A pig caused hundreds of Indians to kill one another in 1980. The animal walked through
a Muslim holy ground at Moradabad, near New Delhi. Muslims, who think pigs are an embodiment of Satan, blamed Hindus for the defilement. They went on a murder rampage, stabbing and clubbing Hindus, who retaliated in kind. The pig riot spread to a dozen cities and left more than 200 dead.

The Mountain Meadows massacre was a mass killing of the Fancher-Baker wagon train at Mountain Meadows in Utah Territory on September 11, 1857, by a group of Mormons, and executed approximately 120 men, women and children.

In the Third Crusade, after Richard the Lion-Hearted captured Acre in 1191, he ordered
3,000 captives -- many of them women and children -- taken outside the city and slaughtered. Some were disemboweled in a search for swallowed gems.

The Thirty Years' War produced the largest religious death toll of all time. It began in 1618 when Protestant leaders threw two Catholic emissaries out of a Prague window into a dung heap. War flared between Catholic and Protestant princedoms, drawing in supportive religious armies from Germany, Spain, England, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, France and Italy. Sweden's Protestant soldiers sang Martin Luther's "Ein 'Feste Burg" in battle. Three decades of combat turned central Europe into a wasteland of misery. One estimate states that Germany's population dropped from 18 million to 4 million. In the end nothing was settled, and too few people remained to rebuild cities, plant
fields, or conduct education.


These atrocities were not perpetrated by God, but by evil human beings

Well, the major killing being done in the name of religion right now is coming from radicalized Islam.

For all intents and purposes, Islam is a medieval religion. It seems to be stuck in the Dark Ages.

All I know about it is that they pay an awful lot of lip service to being a religion of peace, but they seem to dominate the headlines with violence and murder. :rolleye2:

Honestly, one of my soldiers was a convert to islam...good man...good soldier. He considered the radicals as an abomination before god. Still, he didn't hate them...he just had a jo to do.

but there are some craaaazy mooslims out there.

As someone else said, They seem to be stuck in the dark ages.

What do they need? A renaissance? Unlikely since they keep Killing all authors and and artists. They will never grow up!

By 'they' I mean the radicals. As I know they're are about 7 million American Muslims, and the majority are hard working citizens just trying to make it.

I think Most of those Crazy ones are in the East


But also, we hear They Hate us westerns. I say return it. Ying yang. What comes around goes around, etc etc blah blah blah. Return it back. I think I'm beginning to the eastern muslims.

Not my next door neighbor Bill Abdul. you know what I mean?
