Re: Urban Meyer to Step Down - AGAIN?

And who will DM get to run his offense if he bolts to Florida? DM still won't have a Tim Tebow to run the offense he likes to run.
If you can't recruit the quarterback you need with all the talent in Florida, then you don't need to be the coach there. He would do really well there.

Mullen could dominate at UF, just like anyone could dominate at UF. Amazing program, great talent, etc. I doubt they will even look anywhere else. In fact, this may have been orchestrated.

Re: Urban Meyer to Step Down - AGAIN?

Why? Mullen and Tebow made that offense. At least they can get half that back. If they get someone to run a different style of offense, they don't really have the players to do so.

I've got to believe UF would go after a bigger name than Mullen. I know he offers a lot of good things: familiarity, recruiting, knowing boosters, knowing the offense, etc...

But I've got to believe they'd go after a big name coach.

If Mullen does go to UF then all of central Mississippi will have to be put on suicide watch

Tebow wasn't at Utah when Mullen & Meyer went 13-0 & he was barely there his FR year when they won a NC at UF with Chris Leake as QB.

That offense was around before Tebow showed up, and it will be there again when they get someone else to run it.

Re: Multiple sources: Urban Meyer will step down again

Mullen or Malzahn would make a lot of sense because they have the talent for those systems in place already. And, yes, I do think Burton or Reed could get the job done as the QB.

If I'm UF, I look hard at Mullen, but heck no to Malzahn.

And I heard lots of folks saying UM would not miss a beat with TB gone either. Unless, DM recruits the qb he needs to run that offense I don't see much difference in the W/L record UM had this year.
