I trust that Saban has it under control. Kids that pull this kind of stuff, we don't need. Rickvox79 I agree with you, this kid has been a BAMA fan all along. How do you switch??

Not so sure when he makes comments like these:

"I feel comfortable with it," Calloway said. "I've been committed to Alabama, I love Alabama. That's where I've been committed and I was committed to it but it just feels like something wasn't right. Ever since then I felt like I made the right decision."

and

"(Earlier this week) I was just sitting there talking to my roommate and I said I'm going to do it. It just came to me. We were talking about schools and talking about this and that, I was talking about Alabama and he was talking about Auburn and it was just like, 'Hey, I'm coming to Auburn.' It felt like a big weight came off my shoulders. It was something that has been stressing me out and now I feel fine."

I have a feeling, like many are saying above, that he'll go to AU trying to be a RB and just end up at LB anyway. In the end it is his choice to make, just hate the way it all played out. Reminds me of Keenan Allen but much worse, because we didn't lose KA to Auburn.

That probably is it. Alabama projects kids and recruits them for that position. It is for their own best interest as it it their best shot at the NFL at that position. I'm sure Alabama has projected in the past and that projection was incorrect (Bo Jackson). But oh well. I'll bet he ends up at LB anyway.

BC just commented on TV that he is decommitting from Bama and it's down to LSU, USC, and AU. He will make the announcement in the 4th quarter.

He wasn't going to play RB for us. He has the size of a FS, not LB. I think he would have been a project anyway. A tweener like B J Scott. He just opened another slot for us. Thanks Brent.

I'd like to try to make myself feel better about this too, but you're reaching. Calloway is a great prospect, even though he's not game-ready at LB yet. He might have opened up another slot, but I'd be shocked if we replaced him with someone better.

This stings, and losing him to Auburn makes it a lot worse.

Auburn's class is starting to pick up steam. They're doing something right on the plains (and no, I'm not talking about Pay-for-play). To pull Calloway away from our staff at this points says Auburn's coaching staff is better than the credit they get.

This one is going to hurt, if nothing else, from a perceptions perspective. To lose one of our two 5-stars to Auburn after months of being committed will be tough.

Unfortunately, this is one of the things that having great recruiting classes breed. We've had excellent classes the past few years and we are indeed stacked. Good luck to Brent where ever he decides to go.

dont look to much into this they only have 16 commits and only 1 five star if brent goes there. they cant contend with us in recruiting

Will it really matter in the long run. If Auburn is slapped with NCAA sanctions he will be out of post-season play for a long time...
Way too many people on this board think Auburn being penalized by the NCAA is a done deal. Hate to sense/hear people getting their hopes up.

Yes, but the guys who still have them listed and who have not made a decision are pretty significant.

He never really seemed to be certain that he wanted to come to Bama, and if somebody really doesn't want to be here I dont want them. I'd rather have a less talented player that has his heart at Bama.

No one thought Brent Calloway was seriously considering them until a couple of hours ago. Not trying to say Auburn's class is going to be the best ever, just saying they are getting into position to finish much stronger than it looked like they would a couple of weeks ago.

not sure what was involved with his decision. If he made up his mind playing RB, Bama may not provide him a chance to get playing time early..

he would be our fifth stringer he is a mediocre running back my school last year had a 1600 yard rusher and around 20 or so touchdowns he was not even a 3 star and we play 5a and 6a schools. brent is a stud linbacker not a great running back
