I think that I speak for many when I say that I don't so much dislike Auburn the team, as I do the fan base. Truth is, there's probably a fair share of pukes on both sides. As someone who has lived away from AU fans for a long time, I find it easier to pull for Auburn.
I recently moved back to Alabama, and the disdain many AU fans have for Alabama just makes me not like them very much.
The one exception to this rule is Cam. He, in my opinion, is a completely self absorbed, selfish guy. Really good football player, but not who I'd like to represent my team. Coach Gene also failed miserably to show class at the podium last night and even mention Oregon and congratulate them.. Dissapointing..

In the end.. give credit where credit is due. Those guys won all their games. Get ready for lotsa flags, tshirts, stickers, etc.... To the victor go the spoils....

The only thing The Barn should get congrats for..Is the money well spent on sCam..Other than that..I wouldn't mind if a small asteroid levels their campus & stadium while they're no one there due to icy conditions..

Just because others do not have class does not mean we should not show some. Just let go of the venom and let time and justice take their turn. Remember: "If in order to slay the dragon we have to become the dragon, then the dragon has won."

NEVER EVER.
Auburn has never earned my respect.

Auburn is a team composed of 'Questionable Players', with 'Questionable Ethics',
who specialize in 'Thuggish Behavior'. They don't deserve Congratulations.
Auburn has a win at any cost attitude.
I know it's cold outside, but 'Hell hasn't frozen over' yet...
I cannot Congratulate a team that calls itself 'Gods Team'.
NEVER EVER!!!

My mother always said that if you could not say anything nice about someone, then don't say anything.

Okay, I will not make any other comment about the thuggish Barners.

Auburn deserves to be congratulated for winning the BCS National Championship. They played a tough team in Oregon and rose to the challenge. So have some class and acknowledge their accomplishement for now. It will make it that much more fun if they are stripped of their trophies in coming years.

Although I strongly feel their championship will be vacated, and dont agree with their ethics, for now I reluctantly choose the "innocent until provent guilty" ideal, and thus congratulate Auburn on their national title.

If there is a movement to usher any changes that have a negative impact on the SEC, we will all have Auburn to blame.

Auburn won through having professionals instead of amateurs, changing grades, and dirty play that anyone who watched the game could clearly see.

They are a black mark on the conference and college football. I would have mixed emotions of this was a team full of Auburn players that didn't break the rules and didn't knee people in the head after the play was over, or slam their head into the dirt (typical play for them over the past few years), I would have mixed emotions if this team didn't have players that 95% of the college football world know aren't and shouldn't be eligible...

As it stands, Auburn could get the death penalty and be replaced by A&M and I would rejoice. Not long ago I would have said we benefit from having Auburn as a rival. At this point Auburn is a cancer upon the SEC and the NCAA and I hope the cancer is dealt with soon before it spreads. The SEC is a mighty conference we all have admiration for, but Auburn has done nothing positive for the conference. They opened the doors to everyone accusing us all of dirty play, widespread rule breaking, and questionable academics.

There is nothing honorable or respectable about what Auburn did this season. They are to college football what the East German swim team was to the Olympics. There is no way to respect an institution that lets such rule breaking be flaunted so brazenly, much less reward it. Did any of you applaud a muscle bound, hairy, female East German swimmer when they won a medal? Or recognize the obvious injustice you were witnessing (which took years to "prove" to some obviously blind individuals)?

Ya'll are being way to generous to the Barn. They will be lucky to win 6 games next year.
That doesn't change several facts.

  1. As many expected they would, including myself, AU man handled Oregon up front.
  2. AU beat everyone they played and were the best team in CFB this year.
  3. I'm less than thrilled that AU is the best team in CFB this year.
  4. The thread starter uses emoticons as punctuation.

My wife is an AU fan/graduate and I might consider congratulating them once it is proved that they did not cheat to win this national championship. And I said I MIGHT consider it.

If you have evidence and know they cheated you need to provide this information to the NCAA.
Please, something smells in Lee County and has for a long time. You don't have to see it to know what it is. One of the reasons God gave us 5 physical senses and threw in intuition as a bonus.
