re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Bizarre bizarre bizarre.

Would love to hear an explanation from him but I know he doesn't owe anyone that.

And I really don't understand how AU wasn't even in his top 4 until last weekend when he made an unexpected visit. And I REALLY don't understand how he could convince his brother to go to UA last year because it's where he wanted to go, only to go to AU this year.

Just can't imagine spending 4-5 years away from your brother at an arch-rival school. Maybe the people of Maryland really don't understand the AU-UA rivalry.

Or maybe we take it far too seriously.

Either way, good luck Cyrus, we would have loved to have had you.

I must say that I am shocked but he(Cyrus) always said that just because his Arie signed w/us, it did not mean that he(Cyrus) would necessarily chose us. Cyrus seems like a genuinely good person and I wish him the best(except when he plays us) but as Arie tweeted, "We'll make you pay ;)"!!

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

If you read the board yesterday, the mods and several people with sources weren't too confident about Cyrus signing with Bama.

I just don't get the decision. He says he bonded well with the other AU OL recruits at the Al-Star game. That is very possible, but those relationships were so great he could spurn his brother and the school that had been recruiting him (and the supposed favorite) for over a year? Just makes no sense to me.
"Didn't want to compete with his brother"....that's the latest line I heard

Any truth to the rumor that he's having another presser in 30 minutes to tell the world that he was joking? ;)

I kept waiting for him to say just kidding. This reminds me a lot of Bobby Massie a few years ago, just a little more surprising.

I didn't want to go to school where my older sister went, so I get that.

I think Alabama fans continue to underestimate the Auburn coaching staff...on and off the field. CGC and staff have done nothing but excel since he arrived at Auburn. Who would have thought it?

Yeah who would've thought a second tier team could all of a sudden recruit like this. odd

I wish Cyrus all the best. Auburn was his best choice if stepping in and starting from day 1 was his goal. iHe will be in good hands with Jeff Grimes as his position coach, he deserves a lot of the credit in taking Ziemba to the next level.

At the end of the day Bama will be fine at left tackle. If Cyrus' heart was not in Tuscaloosa it is best he is not here.

flame me all you want but this is a STUPID move

if he feels like he fits in over there then i for one am glad he's not coming to Bama, the programs are almost exact opposites and if you want to play that bush league crap the barn is the place for you....

i dont want ANY kid that falls for their crap and buys in to anything aubarn... he's obviously not as smart as some on here think he is, his actions speak for themselves

I have to agree 100%. I hope Cyrus is a stand out on a few sub 500 Auburn teams.

...so he chooses our in-state rival so that he'll compete with his brother every year in what in widely considered to be one of the most bitter rivalries in CFB?

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Someone not from the state of AL I guess it does not sting as much to have the Barn get him, I just fail to understand how they are pulling this off. Not trying to be a UA homer I just do not understand.

Again though with their schedule next year it does not matter. They will not be able to sale early PT next year and with a 6 win season their recruiting class will suffer. The following year these players will start to help but it will be their 3rd year and they will also leave for the NFL the good ones atleast. Good luck to him.

Also if we could get IC and not saying we will I will be content with him going to the Barn.

Auburn whipped us again today, just like they did in during the 2nd half in late November. No way around it, they are recruiting at our level now. Ruined the day for me, especially knowing that we are now done for the day. Crowell coming? Get real, just setting ourselves up for another disaster. LOL @ all of the insiders from BOL and others claiming he was Bama bound. AU is going to have the best O line in the nation in 3-4 years. Of all the talk of the barn burning, looks like their coaches are all staying and they are recruiting on an equal level with us.

Yea they have... When they had Cam Newton. Don't kid yourself. The guy was 5-19 in the Big 12 North and comes to the SEC West and goes undefeated. That doesn't jive with me.
