Yep.48 - 3, there will be a lot of players getting playing time.
Remember Saban also wants to see both young men improve their games. While I do agree that AJ will get the majority of snaps, I see Sims coming in around the half-way point of the third quarter and taking Bama to the end of the game (with Blake getting in a few snaps at QB, also).I know CNS said there is a "qb competition" but unless he's said so, I'd doubt we'd see Sims get anywhere near 50% of the snaps...even in a blowout as we expect.
IMO, give AJ as much time as possible under center getting valuable experience and developing continuity with his receivers. I'm sure we'll see PS, but I'd be surprised if he got more than 20-25% of the snaps.
North Texas' offense is nonexistent. Penn State had three through three and a half quarters at home. How is UNT supposed to get anything ? Bama should and probably will shut this team out.I will call 51-10. We need a good tune-up before the real tests come in the form of Arkanasas and Florida.
I agree with this.I think the Bama D pitches a shutout this week, and the offense just does pretty much whatever it wants.
North Texas lost to Florida International 41-16 in the opener, and the offense didn't score a point. That's right, the Defense scored two TDs and a Safety to give them their 16 points! Houston, which isn't exactly known for its defense, held the Mean Green to under 300 yards of total offense, and only gave up 1 drive of over 50 yards. A big return and two turnovers gave North Texas all but one of their scores. And that was against a defense that turned in a worse performance against UCLA than the San Jose State defense did. The only way North Texas scores is if the offense or special teams hands them the ball inside our 35 yard line. If you remember, that was the only way Kent State scored as well. This time the Alabama Defense keeps it clean sheet.
Final score:
Alabama 59
North Texas 0
I might have to change my score. We only allowed 11 points to Penn State and a pick six to Kent State. Without that play, Kent State doesn't get near the end zone. I am thinking 0-3 points for N. Texas.I agree with this.
Penn State shouldn't have scored 11 either IMO. It really should have been 34-3 but Saban didn't want to run it up. Kent State shouldn't have scored either. With McCarron in the game, I like our chances of turnovers staying low. North Texas will have trouble crossing the 50 yard line much less scoring 10 points.I might have to change my score. Penn St.'s offense isn't very good, and I imagine that we will play a lot of second and third team players. I highly doubt that Coach Saban leaves the first stringers in just to preserve a shutout when we are up by forty points. That is how UNT may get to 10 points. Then again, maybe our second and third stringers can hold them scoreless. That would be great. I will stick with 51-10 for now, though.North Texas' offense is nonexistent.
