The loss to LSU was disappointing, but we are still in GREAT shape in the BCS. Lots of football yet to be played!

Listening to Les Miles this week really shows how different he and coach Saban are. Could you envision Coach Saban pondering and answering questions regarding potential opponents in the BCS Championship Game game with three games left, including #8 Arkansas? Not in this lifetime!

"I wouldn't care who they lined up against us," Miles said."
"I'm all for playing Alabama"

I hope Arkansas whips them.

There is recent precedent for SEC teams stumbling in midseason and then rising back to the top. Most recently Florida and then don't forget LSU backed their way into the BCSCG with two losses a few years ago.

We are in good shape.

Can we just say LSU made it with two losses? I hate that "backed in" term. One could say that about any of the top two teams at the end of the year, unless they started the year at the top, because they are there as much for what some other team(s) didn't do as much as they are there for what they did do. Ie; Oklahoma State is not at #2 now because they are better than Bama. They are at #2, because Bama lost to LSU.

Florida and LSU have both won the BCS with losses...long shot for us this year, but it could happen.

So, we are the 2nd favorite to win the BCS?

With LSU the favorite -- am I to infer that Bama being 2nd favorite is based on the outcome of the Arkansas/LSU game?

Meaning - that it's either LSU .... OR, Bama -- if LSU slips up to Arkansas or UGA....

That's at least how I see it.....

*For entertainment purposes only.

I never understood this...can we not discuss gambling for what it really is? Granted I have not read the "Rules and Regulations" lately, I would think we would be able to do so in an appropriate manner, at least on Non-Sports...

NO, Vegas seems to think at this point a Bama Vs. LSU BCSCG is likely. I can assure you the odds will change dramatically if Stanford beats Oregon Saturday though!

I think they were being "tongue in cheek" -- and kidding around....

I think that this simply is a representation of the belief that either Alabama or LSU will play in the game - and that the one that does will win it. The other odds are longer because they must do more than play in the game - they must beat either Alabama or LSU.

In other words, Vegas (and the betting public) is betting that the SEC wins it all again.

Looking at it a little differently --

I think they believe that the SEC will win the BCS ..... whether that is LSU or Bama -- regardless of who the opponent is going to be....

Looking at the potential matchups you can see why:

LSU vs Stanford
LSU vs Okie State
LSU vs Oklahoma
LSU vs Boise
LSU vs Oregon
Bama vs Stanford
Bama vs Okie State
Bama vs Boise
Bama vs Oklahoma
Bama vs Oregon

I think they believe the SEC wins all of those potential matchups -- so, it doesn't necessarily mean we will play LSU -- but it does mean that if we do get in, we are likely to beat everyone else possible (other than LSU)...

You are a genius ;) (just 2 minutes earlier than I was a genius, lol)
