Looks like Trent's not gonna win the Heisman

Wait, what?

http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/_/id/378497/robert-griffin-iii

He's had an unbelievable season (with a QB rating >200 for HALF the season), and it's been all over the news...

I know they played a cake schedule, but c'mon - he's been SICK all year.
During the middle of the season, he was an afterthought and then he has the game against Oklahoma and then the most recent one against Texas and he becomes the outright favorite? Thats the question I was asking. Trent has consistently been at the top, with the exception of the beginning of the season, all year.

Richardson ain't winning it. It's going to be Griffin or maybe Luck (folks just love him). Richardson will obviously be invited, but won't win. Maaaybe 2nd. We'll revisit this in a few weeks.

He's got a better shot at the crystal ball than the Heisman, it appears. I imagine he's just fine with that.

Well I hate it if Trent does not win it obviously. I just know his runs against Ole Miss and the barn (7:44 fourth quarter) were every bit as impressive as anything the other candidates have produced in regards to Heisman moments. And the Trent's stiff arm matches the Heisman trophy arm perfectly........ But I have a bias ;) RTR

So, TR3 gets hosed for the Heisman because of the backlash that Bama in the championship? So be it, a TR3 with a chip on his shoulder = bad news for LSU defense.

My thoughts exactly. Trent always plays inspired ball; but he will have a plethora of reasons to lay it all on the line in this one. The O-line loves and respects Trent, they will have something to prove, as well.

On a side note, I like Bama coming in an underdog and with LSU having all the hype. Kind of reminds me of 1992.

Without RGIII, how many games would Baylor have won?
Without TRIII, how many games would BAMA have won?

As much as I want Trent to win, Griffin is a legit contender for the Heisman.
That's why he'll win it (and I'll have no complaints). I do, however, like how voters have decided to use this as a reason to vote for a player. Eli Manning would like to know where that logic was in 2003.

I agree. I wont be angry of RG3 wins it. That guy is special.

I have no complaints about Luck or Griffin winning, cause neither team would win more then 6 games without either (most likely 3-5 wins for both teams with their star QBs) but if people are voting for either of them to spite Trent Richardson then it's wrong. Vote for them because they earned it, not to spite TR3 and Alabama.

Never said he was not a contender but TR accounted for almost half of our offense this year. Anyone think UA would be in a position that we are now without TR is fooling themselves. As for RGIII go look at his games. Unless you really think that all those 7-5 and 6-6 teams in the Big12 are really that good like all of their fans, the only 3 games they needed RGIII there to win, he was and they lost. Not even close.

The Heisman usually goes to a player with great numbers and great highlights. RG3 is hands down the winner in that contest. I love TR, but he was too consistent for his own good. Maybe if he slow-played his hand and broke some of those big runs late in close games...

He's a great player and a contender, but this is where I too fall in line. Just don't know how you can give it to a QB who's on a team that lost 3 games, and is going to the Valero Alamo Bowl. I don't get it...

But of course I'm biased and want us to win everything. That's obviously what my problem is. :)

Any UA fan should be biased, but for me the vote is more about how your team finishes based on your performance in each game. TR never cost UA a game. Even in the LSU game TR played great, better than anyone else against LSU, and it was not his fault the staff did not put the ball in his hands every time we got to the 30. But on the other hand, RGIII lost all 3 games for his team. See everyone wants to look at his xbox numbers but yet the most important stat for me is the 4 ints during the 3 losses that got his team into the Alamo Bowl. People seem to overlook that even on here. To me that is the same as saying OSU had the better body of work and deserves to play LSU. Simply over looking the ISU loss.

IMO Trent is the best player in CFB. He is an amazing athlete and can single handily take control of a game. Not to mention, he handles himself very well off the field.

If TR isn't gonna win it though, then I have no problem with RGIII getting it. He is one of the best players in the nation. It's a shame he plays for a team like Baylor. He also sounds like a great young man based on his interview from the Bowl Selection Show.

Luck is a great player too, and he handles himself very well. But I just feel like RGIII is more deserving based on this season.
