Late Night Football for Alabama vs. Ole Miss: 8:15 Kickoff

we got home at 2:30 am two years ago.
the cheapest hotel room available that weekend is 300 bucks and a two (2) night minimum.

BTDT... Never again.
Looks like I watch if at home, after a leisurely meal.
(I can kick back and watch Barbara fall asleep in the 4th quarter...)

Wow, that is late. For those of us driving far distances and planning to leave early Sun morning... this really stinks

Could always leave after the game and drive part way if your a "night owl". We did that last year for BAMA - LSU. Left Dallas at 6AM, rolled into T-Town 7 1/2 hours later, hung out on the strip till game time and hopped back in the car about 90 minutes after the game ended. Made it back to Vicksburg, found a Marriott Courtyard for $75, crashed 4 hours and continued back to Dallas. Had we won we probably would've been so amped up we woulda made it back to Dallas w/out stopping which was our goal.

After having to give Super 8 $600 for 2 nights a couple of years ago, I decided for night games, leaving Dallas about 6AM works a lot better. Rooms much more reasonable in Meridian or Vicksburg after the game. Long day but, saves about $500. For 2:30 games, I'm gonna spend the night before the game in Meridian. Easy 75 minute drive to/from campus.

didn't we play ole miss in this late time slot a year or two back? i seem to remember falling asleep on the couch watching the game in the early 4th quarter because it was so lopsided.

Hate to admit it, but I fell asleep watching Archie Manning and Scott Hunter.

Yep.... trust me if both our kids where not at Bama not a chance I go to this game based on K/O time. Thinking now, right after game drive to at least Meridan or maybe Jackson on way back to Dallas. I might end up cashing in some air miles and fly to HSV and bag the drive all together. RTR!!!!

I remember the 8:15 Ole Miss game, it didn't end until about 11pm, that mean I need to take a nap during that Mizzou/USC game . CBS commercials + Spurrier's 50 passing attempts=6 hour game.

I hate this late a kickoff as Tejas/Ole Siss really got on my nerves, but it works out perfect for me because I'm heading to Pensacola Beach for vacation that day and need the extra time since I'm not a morning person

Gives me time to get there, get unpacked, take a shower, drink a few or six Bushwackers and get ready for the game.

WHY does the #1 ranked team have to put up with a kickoff time like this. This is absurd. I would think that Bama could put enough pressure on somebody to block something like this. This is as bad as PPV, which blocks a lot of fans from being able to see the game.

Yep, we did. That was a late night driving home. I think this is homecoming. At least there will be plenty of time for tailgating before the game...

I love the night games , it is my favorite part of college football. I have to drive 3 hours after i reach my car. So it will be about 4:00 am when i get in. But it is well worth it..ROLL TIDE

Last time we played Ole Miss in the late slot it was Homecoming. This year, Homecoming is October 27 versus Mittippi Tate.
