This line from the prequels always made me think...isn't that statement in itself an absolute?
This fits in with one of my favorite fan theories written right after The Phantom Menace, that Obi-Wan became Darth Vader and that Anakin would later take the name Ben Kenobi.

It seems most likely that McConnell floated this so Trump can see the backlash before it happens. I just don't think public shaming works on Trump. And even if it did, I doubt any of it could penetrate the Fox News bubble of falsehoods he lives inside.

Pelosi just stirred the pot - a Dem President could declare a national emergency on gun violence, from which more innocent people die than illegal immigration.
Or as Dub wrote, on Climate Change.
Trump is pulling a Harry Reid and is too stupid to see it.

I'm quite excited about the future student loan national emergency.

When President Saban declares an emergency and outlaws pick plays, I don't want to hear any whining. Precedent and all.....

Public shaming doesn't work on any politicians, they are immune to embarrassment.

As I’ve said for many years, if you had every politician in this country buried up to their necks in sand, all you’d have would be not enough sand.

Says something about the "strength" of the American economy when payday loans have become such a huge industry that they can have the ear of the President of the United States.

It also says a lot about our government when pay day loans are even legal. To rob people the way they do used to require a gun and mask.

We will never run out of tweets of him criticizing himself for everything he does.
That goes for practically all of the Republicans. Just saw Pence deriding Obama for an Executive Order in 2014 but the sycophantic fawner will be all in on Trump's emergency order.

Isn't that the truth! Food stamps as a way of life for the working poor. There are no depths that this administration will not descend to for the almighty dollar.
