Heard that Cecil Hurt tweeted that Tua was flown by helicopter to St. Vincent's in Birmingham. Dr. Andrews is based there I presume?

Hopefully his hip is just dislocated and there is no fracture. They can just give him a little anesthesia and pop it back in place. Not sure after that about recovery time. RTR

I've been reading that a dislocation without a fracture has a 2-3 month recovery time.

The best case with a partial dislocation (can't remember what it is called) - he could be back for the CFP. But that assumes no breaks, no ligament damage, no blood vessel issues and no nerve damage, all of which are possible with this type of injury.

That’s best case and it would still end his season. I’ve seen that injury on a football field and the kid screamed literally for 45 minutes until the paramedics could give him a shot for pain.

Just to state what pretty much everyone else is saying, best case scenario he is back for the postseason.

In this case, if it's not the playoffs I doubt they'd risk it. We've probably seen the end of the Tua era.

He has a facility there, but his group is still also in Birmingham. If he is not at St. Vincent's, Dr. Leemak is. They probably sent him wherever their hip specialist is.
This. I believe their clinic is in Gulf Breeze. If their best hip guy isn`t in Birmingham he`s either already landed or in the air.

I'm just hopeful it's not a career defining or ending injury like Bo Jackson. I know they will be much more aggressive with his treatment, but my main concern is for his future. Bama may win out, but the playoffs are out of the question. The committee will not put Bama in the playoffs outside of a crazy meltdown, and I don't blame them. Can't say I'm happy with the coaching staff. I wasn't of the mind he should have played at all today.

I've been watching Bama play for over 50 years . This was the first time I have teared up for an injury since Prothro . It seemed so unnecessary and you could almost feel it coming . I don't care if he ever plays another game at Bama as long as his injury is not disabling in the future . The kid is a warrior !

Agreed, and a sad way to end it. He did some great things, but I feel some chips were left on the table. This guy could have won three plus a couple of Heisman's with a few other things going Bama's way.
