Thank you Bazza, we were just speaking of the lack of coverage so I was coming here to mention it and to remind everyone of the tragedies of that fateful morning.
I am here today because my grandfather was able to survive that day. When I went to Pearl Harbor a couple of years ago I got a little emotional.
They never repaired the bullet holes form that day.
There and Auschwitz-Birkenau are the two most solemn, haunting, and humbling places I’ve ever been. Obviously many orders of magnitude more died at Birkenau and it was a cold December day when we visited and nobody else was there. I haven’t visited Normandy but I’m assuming the feeling would be similar.
