The Last Time Alabama Lost to Tennessee: 5,000 Days and Counting

You may have noticed a few extra Alabama-Tennessee items on BamaCentral recently including Rocky Block, the The Bear Playing on a Broken Leg, and Smoking A Cigar on the Third Saturday in October, and it wasn't a coincidence.

Today, June 28, 2020, marks day No. 5,000 since the last time the Volunteers managed to pull off a win against Alabama football in the Third Saturday in October rivalry.

The Vols cannot be beaten badly enough or often enough. The goal is to put them “out of business.”

OTOH, 5000 days rocks. Coach Saban has been the best thing that’s ever happened to the U of A. RTR!

An amazing number!

I've said many times, I'm rooting for CJP and I want UT to improve to the point they can compete in the east...but not to the point they can beat Bama!!!

Let me just give you an idea how long ago that was.......

Nancy Pelosi had not yet been Speaker of the House (at all)
The first I phone was still about 10 weeks from coming out
Corey Lidle had just been killed in a plane crash ten days earlier
Jim Harbaugh was still the head coach at the Univ of San Diego
Johnny Manziel was 13 years old
The long SEC national title streak had not yet even begun
Bobby Cox was still managing the Atlanta Braves (and just had his first year since 1990 without a pennant)
John Smoltz was still a starting pitcher (won 16 games) and Chipper Jones was a star
Shaq had just won his title without Kobe
The Great Recession was STILL nearly two years away
The top-rated shows on TV were American Idol, CSI, Desperate Housewives, and Grey's Anatomy
Casino Royale (Craig's first Bond) was released November 1, 2006 - 11 days later
Saddam Hussein was still alive (for a few more weeks)
