I agree but just don’t get why the head-to-head makes such a huge difference to people. I also don’t get why a team losing will automatically eliminate a player from Heisman contention.

Losing had NO affect apparently in the 1950's when ND's Paul Hornung won the Heisman. Now, he was a very good player, especially in the NFL, but was there no one else more deserving that year? I think leading a team to wins should be a criteria. Wasn't ND 2-8 that year? So, Paul H. lead the Fighting Irish to 2 Victories and 8 defeats.

Well on a 2-8 team you know he probably had a whole lot of tackles.

How can Mac Jones be on second string to Trask first team when Jones had more passing yards, more completion, more Td’s head to head and beat him in the game?

Maybe because he carries his team more.
