I agree but just don’t get why the head-to-head makes such a huge difference to people. I also don’t get why a team losing will automatically eliminate a player from Heisman contention.
Losing had NO affect apparently in the 1950's when ND's Paul Hornung won the Heisman. Now, he was a very good player, especially in the NFL, but was there no one else more deserving that year? I think leading a team to wins should be a criteria. Wasn't ND 2-8 that year? So, Paul H. lead the Fighting Irish to 2 Victories and 8 defeats.

Well on a 2-8 team you know he probably had a whole lot of tackles.
