Good question ... I think he is immediately available but I will double-check.Will he have to sit a year?
Since he is transferring TO Alabama then the answer is probably yes. If he were transferring to any other school or transferring away from Alabama then no. JK, I have no idea. Will he have to sit a year?
To recap; first time transfers are expected to be cleared for instant eligibility and the NCAA has given everybody a free year because of Covid creating the most activity that we’ve ever seen in the transfer portal.
Well, if JQ had to sit...Since he is transferring TO Alabama then the answer is probably yes. If he were transferring to any other school or transferring away from Alabama then now. JK, I have no idea.
Looks promising that he might not have to sit a year. I was curious because he only appeared in 12 games if there was something that would allow immediate eligibility that occurred at TTU. Thanks for the info!!This is what I found per a 247Sports article about transfers:
Been thinking the same honestly. The interesting this is we've seen a lot of movement of players from quality programs so that opens the door for other players to go to those same programs. I think we will start hearing about roster solutions next week after Gurley makes his announcement on where he's transferring to.This greatly pleases me!
There are however many, many schools that will be struggling with roster management now. I just hope those who may be departing the team end up in a good place as a result of all this shuffling.
And we have 5 players that were ranked as high as 5 stars at one point or another during their HS recruitment.Amazing that Bama will have 3 former McDonald's All-American's in the back court next year (Burnett, Davison, JQ). The future is bright.
