Mack is 17 months old today...5/22/2021 he goes to Southeaster Guide Dogs, Palmetto, Florida to be trained as a service dog. We've enjoyed him and will miss him...but this was the agreement when we received him. I know he will bring joy and make someone's life a lot better.

We had this guy (Red-headed Woodpecker) show up at our suet feeder over the last two days. I haven't seen one in my life that I recall.


We have Red-bellied male and female and their fledglings plus our Downy pair and their families appear at the suet feeder several times per day. It is incredible to me that these incredible creatures endure in spite of our environmental destruction.

Oh he definitely is! Please tell the girls to leave me alone!

He is our old rescue. He plays well with Lucy and Phoebe, but not so well with the “new girl!” His name at the shelter was Grumpy (there were 7 pups in the litter) so his official name is Burton “Grumpy” Guster (from the TV show Psych).
