I'm in a bit of a conflict with myself because I'm old school military, and you don't surrender in the battle.

But I HAVE to have a respite to keep my sanity. I'm trying to approach this as "I can do more good for you for a longer period" if I take a break.

There's no relief in site, and I don't want to get a bad diagnosis at some point and wish I'd done things. I've actually had a pretty incredible life, even if it isn't the one I planned. I haven't missed much, but as Jimmy Buffett sang, "There's just too much to see waiting in front of me, and I know that I just can't go wrong with these changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes."

People hear about the flu-like symptoms and potential for pneumonia and think they can weather it.

I didn't know what hypoxia was until my aunt died from Covid-induced hypoxia in December. Then watching it happen to me in February. The oxi-meter saved my life.

The medical community needs to start stressing that some of these symptoms are signs your body is suffocating. Focus more on the chain reaction of symptoms put in motion that may not be reversable. Virtually everyone understands what suffocating is.

Glad you are OK and have good sense. These people won't change because we switch up the message slightly. They are so committed they die at home or scream just before intubation that it's just a cold. It's a type of psychosis - a break from reality. Never seen anything like it before - the spell they're under.

How are this -- Sunday -- morning? I hope you are feeling better and that you will find some relief from the pressures you are experiencing...those will wear you out.

I think the percentage of people in this country that are capable of critical thinking is a shockingly low number.

I think I have an idea that lets everyone get what they want.

I call it “The COVID Purge”.

For two weeks people who believe it is not real get to do whatever they want. If you are a business owner who doesn’t believe in COVID severity you can open up and pack people who visit as tight as you want. Parents on Facebook can hold COVID transmission parties, window licking fairs, etc. For those two weeks everyone who treats it appropriately get to stay home, and will have had enough notice to stock up on essentials etc.

Here’s the kicker. Hospitals and clinics won’t open their doors for you without proof of vaccination. (Or maybe for kids, that’s still the problem with all these idiots)

Those of you who are more familiar with the medical industry, please explain something to me.

My wife and I were at 2 different urgent care places in Montgomery yesterday. We were trying to get athletic physicals done. The one my wife went to was taking forever so I decided to take our 3rd child to a different one to see if it was faster. We both overheard very similar conversations from the staff at these urgent care facilities (one was an AFC, the other a Kids Street).

At mine, a father walked in with his son and ask to for his son to be given a COVID test. The person at the front desk said that they only do a certain number of COVID test a day and he would have to try again the next morning. He got upset saying that this was the 3rd urgent care he had been too and they all said the same thing. He angrily said that we are in the middle of a pandemic and he can’t find a place to test his son (I agree with his anger). He left after a few minutes without getting a test.

My wife overheard the doc and a nurse talking at AFC about cutting off COVID test for the day at 54.

My question: Why in the _____ is there a limit on the number of test done each day in the middle of the pandemic? This state is in the red and places are refusing to diagnose people. This is ridiculous. This is why some people don’t trust doctors. So, the number of infections being reported in the state could be much, much higher because some places are refusing to test people.

Someone, please explain it like I’m 5 because right now this just seems really irresponsible from a medical facility during a pandemic and, a danger to the public health.

guess 1 political reasons though I find it unlikely

guess 2 is that they just don't have the bandwidth to actually run the tests that they take so they have to cap at the number they know they can actually complete

They are not doing that up here - where they actually want to know about Covid cases.

An idiot co-worker is refusing to get a vaccine, even if required by his employer. He said he’d just sit back and draw unemployment.
