A few days too late for McAuliffe
McAuliffe is a symbol of what’s wrong with the Democratic Party. Along with Manchin.
Manchin says country is center right because he wants it to be; every poll taken on paid family leave and other programs he derides as “socialist” are supported by the majority of people in this country. He enjoys telling them they can’t have them, but that doesn’t make the country center-right, only makes him right of center.

pres biden starts talking about 43 minutes

It’s hard listening to him talk. There is no doubt he is physically on the decline. He’s not going to run in 24; I’m really worried because right now, there is no telling who the candidates will be but I’d bet everything I won’t be a fan of either one.

Let Biden run and get Jen Psaki to talk for him. Or get Jen Psaki to run.

National Association of Counties has a very good breakdown of the infrastructure bill.
If you scroll down about 1/3 of the way you’ll see the different sectors like highway, rail, broadband etc and can expand each for more info on how the socialists are going to spend the money allocated.

From the NACo press release:

WASHINGTON – The National Association of Counties (NACo) applauded the passage of the bipartisan infrastructure package by the U.S. House of Representatives. The bill, which the U.S. Senate passed in August, now heads to President Biden for his signature.

“Counties applaud the U.S. House and Senate for passing this much-needed, bipartisan infrastructure bill,” said NACo Executive Director Matthew Chase. “We appreciate our House and Senate partners who worked with us to develop this comprehensive legislation. It will help rebuild our nation’s infrastructure and economy by investing in locally owned infrastructure and preserving local decision-making.”

The bill would accomplish many longstanding county priorities, including:

  • A new, long-term surface transportation reauthorization for highway, bridge and transit systems
  • Meaningful commitments to transportation safety and project streamlining
  • Critical new investments in water, stormwater and broadband projects
  • Increased investments in off-system bridges – including county owned bridges that are not part of the federal-aid highway system
  • Raising the cap on Private Activity Bonds, which will facilitate the construction of infrastructure projects, and
  • An extension of the Secure Rural Schools program for timber harvest counties for three years.
“We are pleased that our federal partners have recognized the critical role counties play in our nation’s infrastructure,” said Chase. “As America’s counties fulfill our vast infrastructure responsibilities, we appreciate a strong federal-state-local partnership to make much-needed investments in building and strengthening infrastructure for the future.”

Counties play a major role in maintaining critical infrastructure. Counties:

  • Own 44 percent of the nation’s road miles and nearly 40 percent of all bridges
  • Are involved in the vast majority of public transportation systems and a third of all public airports
  • Are responsible for the operation of local water systems, and
  • Ensure the safety and resiliency of our communities.

His speech is indicative of other, serious health issues. And I was never a fan of Biden until he became President- still not wild about him but he’s not quite as bad as I thought he’d be.
Weed needs to be legalized now, and last I heard he was firmly against it. He’s caved to Manchin and Sinema on other issues he says he’s still going to push for, so we’ll see how that turns out.
Dems nominate Jen I might campaign for her, but I’d need to know her positions.
I do not trust the DNC as far as I can spit on them.
I don't know why this is a big deal. We already have the same situation in Alabama with our governor, may be even worse. We are managing through it.
she doesn’t have her hand on the button, so to speak, among other things. It is a big deal, considering the level of responsibility.
Granny runs a bottom dwelling state full of morons. Big difference.

Why has Biden not signed the infrastructure bill? What is he waiting on?

he mentioned the other day that he was going to wait until they were back in session so that all of the folks who supported it can be at the signing ceremony
This is the nonsense I hate - sign the dang thing and get the work started. Days do matter, considering this should have been done weeks ago.
All for a photo op. They do not care about the American people, only about securing their political careers.

His greatest attribute to me is that I knew that whether I agreed with what he did or not that whatever he did he would be doing it because he thought it would help Americans. After 4 years of Trump that makes a huge difference.

Agree. There's an advantage to having a man in office who realizes his candle is burning short.

honestly, i don’t have a problem with it at all. a lot of folks worked really hard on this with some taking huge political risks to do so. he wants to celebrate the accomplishment and the folks who helped make it come to pass

Well, I currently work for a company that will be greatly affected by this bill, and the delays put a hold on some projects; others are affected more than us because we have plenty of work at the moment.
We just disagree - I’m not at all on board with all this celebratory nonsense.
I work hard too. They get paid a lot more than I do, or ever did.
