If this is true then that points to the affair accusation actually being false and the boosters got caught fabricating lies to get their way.
No it points to “we got no proof to pin any of it on you, but we are tired of your shenanigans.” There is a huge difference between false and can’t be proven.

Even if he didn’t have an affair, it was extremely stupid of him to bring her to Auburn. There are alot of SEC and ACC women capable of doing that job that no one would have ever made that connection to.

If he wasn't doing anything wrong, then he wasn't doing anything wrong--and I can fully understand him wanting to have someone he already knows and trusts as an assistant, particularly when moving across the country.

It doesn’t matter…as this situation clearly proves.

One aspect to the Freeze situation is his wife. Think of it from her viewpoint, they had a great marriage when he was a high school coach, he makes the big time and hires escorts for him to destress with on the road, then he has to come to Jesus, goes to work at Liberty and things are good again. From her viewpoint the question has to be asked, if he goes back to the big time, does he lose himself again? If she has half a brain she's going to nix a move to Auburn.
Bingo. I think due to the mess he created at Ole Miss, his wife probably has him on a short leash. If I were a betting man, Steele will be the man. It's who the big dogs wanted to begin with and he knows where the bodies are buried.

You assume he changed his behavior at Ole Miss or at Liberty or both. I doubt his behavior changed at either. The board at Liberty U was OK with Jr's proclivities, so why wouldn't they be OK with Freeze's - especially considering they knew what they were getting and winning was more important than their "morals"?

So how much would it be like Auburn to have people close to the program leak rumors, start an firestorm of innuendo, start an investigation, get the story out your firing your head coach "for cause", find no "cause" in your internal investigation, realized to get rid of the coach you have effectively "neutered" in public you'll need to come up an $18 million dollar buyout....then have the money "balk" at coming up the cash?

Never mind, that's rhetorical.

Additionally there were "stories" about creepy Coach Freeze from his high school coaching days at Briarcrest in Memphis.

Additionally, if he was not doing anything wrong, then the bozos who started this innuendo need to be hammered to the wall.

Or, they just sweep it under the rug and move on. It's super easy to deny an accusation and if your boss just says OK its not true, then it become a non-issue. Regardless, we will NEVER know the truth, at least not until Chesi decides to destroy him in 15-20 years when he runs for Congress. 🤷‍♀️ And even then, we still won't know.

IDK, it would seem if they retain him the PTB will have to give him some kind of public affirmation.

The press conference/article (however they do it) and the kissing up about how happy they are that he's their coach will be worthy of some popcorn!

That still doesn't mean he didn't bring a 20-something "assistant" to the Plains. Just means that the AUBS don't care and have shifted gears to protect the Fambly.

That said, I think if they had PROOF, Harsin would already be gone. You can have a room full of circumstantial evidence, but if you can't prove your case, you will lose. Harsin staying put doesn't necessarily mean he's innocent. They just couldn't prove it.

If the affair is not true, how has she not screamed to the rafters that this is untrue? I know if I were a female and somebody started a rumor like this I would be tell anyone and everyone that this was a lie. But we have heard none of this.

I keep trying to look away but this is such a dung heap. I mean really, the aubs have engineered their way into one redneck standoff here. Trying to fire an unpopular coach for nothing whatsoever and they probably don't have the money to pay him off. I hope he stays and slowly twists the dagger until they are all on their knees begging for mercy.
