Never kept up with Wisconsin recruiting....did Cryst not recruit well?

They've had a style of play there for a long time....hope they get themselves turned around and can be a tough game for the Buckeyes again soon.

Yep, quick research on Wisconsin's recruiting.....

2019 - #29
2020 - #28
2021 - #17
2022 - #37

He was falling further behind the big boys in the Big 10.

Frame of reference: Ranking for Wisconsin in the Big 10.

2019 - #5
2020 - #5
2021 - #3
2022 - #7

He had a good 2021 class comparatively, but haven't looked at his OL recruiting specifically. With what they run, without hitting homeruns on OL recruits and RB recruits, they are in big trouble. They never have a shot with big time QB or WR recruits given their system.

The reality - they have failed to recruit a top quality QB. You just can't win without a very good QB in the SEC or B1G anymore.

Hey Wisky, Nebraska says hi. You might wanna rethink this.

I remember that Callahan hire.....it was extremely weird watching triple option Nebraska suddenly trying to do anything else than what they'd recruited for. I'd watch games just to see the trainwreck....plus we were in mid-Shula era so it made me feel better. ;)

You're right. Arkansas is another good example. Chad Morris, anyone? Some teams can type-switch, but others need to be who they are.

Yes because at soon to be 71 years young, what Nick Saban wants to do is pick up his life and family and move to the north and rebuild a Wisky program. 10 years ago, Wisky might have had a shot but let's face, the older you get the harder the move. I believe Nick has one move left...retirement.

Even if Nick wanted to take on that challenge, there is no chance Mrs. Terry would agree to moving to Wisconsin.

Terry isn't moving a thousand miles from her grandson.

It was worth a shot asking him ten years ago but not now, you're right. But if they got outbid for Bielema they couldn't afford Saban.
