Most troubling to me about the Freeze hire is that it isn’t a single, isolated incident that occurred in Oxford. It is a string of reported incidents prior to losing his job at Ole Miss and while a head coach at Liberty. At worst, it shows a narcissistic, unaccountable , creepy, lecherous and predatory behavior. At best, it shows a complete lack of situational/circumstantial awareness and terrible judgment. And truthfully I think it is both.
Auburn is going to pay big dollars to PR firm to spin this as “the Auburn family- a story of redemption for wayward souls like Freeze and Pearl”. Bank on it. And there will the standard media lapdogs that eat it up. They don’t care about truth. They care only about continuing access and sound bites.
So Auburn University and supporters, do us all a favor. Be honest. State the truth of why you hired Hugh Freeze. “We don’t care what anyone thinks. It’s our decision and this is about winning. Period. We simply don’t care about perception or the complete lack of moral turpitude and judgement exhibited by Coach Freeze. Yeah, he’s got a sleazy past, but at least we aren’t paying $9 million a year like LSU to a guy responsible for killing a kid at his previous job”
(I actually had someone say this last line to me last night, somewhat jokingly but with some serious undertones)
My late father would tell me “you can rationalize most any behavior you choose, and that can send you straight to Hell in a hand basket”.
So Auburn, here’s your hand basket opportunity. Hop in, and enjoy the ride. No one deserves it more.
A sanctimonious narcissist is perhaps one of the worst humans on the planet to deal with because the rationalization of their disgusting behavior is spiritual (in their own mind.) Freeze disgusts me on so many levels.

I will say this--AU Title IX department does NOT PLAY. I represented a young woman last year who had been sexually assaulted in her home near campus, which generally doesn't fall under a schools Title IX protection. At Auburn (like many other schools), they have their own set of rules that extends the protection to off campus housing. At a point when my client wanted to just settle the case to move on, the T9 department refused and they basically gave the kid the equivalent of the death penalty. As far as I know, they have enforced every bullet point in our resolution, too. If Freeze thinks he can come to Auburn as escape the Title IX umbrella, he's grossly mistaken.

Success at Auburn is relative to their own history. They’ve won 10 games in back to back seasons only once. So if he can consistently have them 10-2 & 9-3 & in the hunt for the West this will be a great hire which I think he will do given their resources.
Except Freeze has averaged 6 4 losses a year as a head coach. They didn't hire someone who will consistently win 9 or 10 games, they hired a worse version of Malzahn.

What I don't understand is that if you are willing to hire sleaze, then why not hire a sleaze that has proven he can win a national title at 2 different schools, Urban Meyer. Instead they settled for mid tier sleaze.

Edit: Bad math skills. My point still stands though.

This is incorrect.

He's lost 6 games 2 times in his entire career - 2016 with 7 losses and 2012 with 6 losses. He's actually averaged just under 4 losses per year.

Urban Meyer was not a candidate for Auburn. They didn't settle for Freeze, he was the best they could get.

The culture at Auburn has been defined the last few years. Do whatever it takes to try to win. Moral compasses should not be used. Everyone in the Auburn administration are only puppets of the PTB and nothing is too slimy to accomplish these goals.

Victory in the 'W' column for SEC schools comes at a steep price whether it be a trip to Atlanta or down the road to purgatory or perdition.

As for Freeze's coaching that's not the problem. It’s the other stuff, the gross stuff — the stuff you condemn in church on Sunday --- the escort services and the DMs on Twitter to alleged sexual assault victims using the name of Jesus as a weapon.

That stuff matters, and Auburn is eating the garbage today to make a mint with a pile of recycled trash tomorrow.

Let's hope, for the sake of the SEC 'The Cheater' can take some direction from CADILLAC'S POST GAME SPEECH...!

Just win, baby JUST WIN... BUT first what to do with the 'CADILLAC'...!
