This is not an accurate statement. Auburn did not do an extensive background check as they never even reached out to the woman at Liberty. So, even where they tell us that they are doing extraordinary things to keep him under control, they also demonstrate that they will lie - deceiving the public and their fans - for as long as they can.

Auburn is all in on Freeze. They have already started the cover-up. They are burying his past, and will continue to bury future transgressions.

Freeze direct messaged her after she made the allegations public. Freeze said that AD Ian McCaw was "the most Jesus-like leader" he had known (or something to that effect). McCaw had held the post of AD at Baylor when the sexual assault scandal happened there.
Even if the allegations are not true, it is a serious lapse in judgment for Freeze to contact the victim. I'll bet Liberty's lawyers were not pleased to learn the coach had done this.

That sounds like Phat Phil. If you'll remember back some years ago, a UT player was accused of raping (statutory, maybe?) a 16-year old mentally challenged girl. Phil and his attorney met with the girl and a friend of hers somewhere and suddenly the charges were dropped.
