Jalen Milroe is now the starter going forward.

I saw the game too and I am surprised we pulled out the win at all. TB wasn’t the answer but he was the main reason we had no points until the defense left our offense in a positive position. FWIW I really like TS and think he can be developed into a starter but I as bad as I want him to be the starter I can see where CNS has decided to go with JM.

As far as Josh Pate and other unnamed media guys (which we all know when one reports they all repeat) unless he is quoting players or high placed sources it is all suppositions at this point, The players have said the meeting was about holding guys accountable and that they would support whoever was taking the snaps. They also reported that JM took his punishment without negativity and was supportive of all the players on the field. Now to me that is more powerful evidence than a sportscaster trying to make a story…fwiw I think Ingrams and RGIII comments were over the top as well and serve no good purpose.

The funny thing is that until now 99% of this board never questioned Josh Pate’s sources or take. Yet now that his sources are telling him that there are locker room issues at Bama this board is 50-50 on it.

But they said they couldn't reveal what they really talked about. So how do we know other than what they agreed they'd tell the media.

That's kinda the point of a closed meeting.
Agree they didn’t say everything that was said in the meeting but they definitely said it was about holding players accountable and that they had confidence in JM or whoever is behind the center and that there was no favoritism… it kind of shoots the “player revolt” concept out of the water for me at least.

At least on my part I've never loved Pate or really bought what he was saying 100%. I'm sure there are locker room issues. I don't think that's the same as Saban choosing a QB because the players said so.

I have my doubts that Milroe on winning the West based on my analysis of his play, nor do I like what I’m hearing coming from sources that have been proven to be far more right and in the ball park when they aren’t.

However I’m a Bama fan and will always will support them. So I’m hoping for the best although with far lower expectations. Hey maybe it will be fun.

I agree that it seems unlikely we will win the West both because of Milroe and the OL.

Look, what is saban supposed to say- "Jalen sure as heck hasn't earned it, but neither have the other two. Nobody has earned it; they all have looked mostly terrible, so may as well go with the one who is the best athlete".

That's the truth, but you're going to try to spin it a little positive than that for them and your team.

As I and most in the media predicted, saban saw the very poor performances from *both* Simpson and Buchner saturday against a really bad team and went back to Milroe.

We don't have a qb, and thats true regardless of which of the three are named the starter.

What I never understood was several posters in here believing Simpson played ok Saturday and would be named the starter because of it. He had like 2 plus plays in over a half against many negative plays. Same for buchner.

Milroe is likely to play fairly poorly going forward. That doesn't mean he is the wrong choice, however, given the options.

Alabama needs a qb for next season. It's one of the very very few black marks on saban's alabama career that we went into this season without a viable starter at qb.

I like his analysis of games and play breakdowns, but I always question unnamed sources.

yeah but I’ve brought that up many times before and people always seem to pass it off as he is too connected to burn a source. My point is that people are consistently inconsistent.

So what happens when Milroe throws 3 more picks against Ole Miss? Will we ar least consider pulling him, or is this Milroe until he gets hurt?

Who are Josh‘s sources does he say… yet we have players on the record saying what the meeting was about and what it was not about. I can see that people gravitate to a better story but it just doesn’t sail with me and I am one Who would like to see more of TS I guess a better question to ask since we all know players read message boards is who does this conversation better serve? To me it certainly is not our team. I am not saying you might not have a handful of disgruntled players - you have them every year - but a full blown revolt against CNS I am sorry I can’t buy that at all.

Yea, well that is a pretty hot take and I simply do not buy it. He said he had coaches text him to confirm but what coaches is he talking about? If any of them are Bama coaches they need to be unceremoniously fired.

He is the guy, so he has my support. Good luck.

I'll always root for the Tide. See my comments below the other quote.

So they admitted Milroe was punished? I didn't see that.

So he was punished because he whined about getting benched after UT?

I know CNS hasn't discussed player discipline, but it wouild make a ton more sense for him to explain this is what happened and he felt Jalen was always QB #1 and that the USF game was really a competition for the #2 spot. Otherwise, it looks like the guy he benched after the loss was #3, but because the replacements sucked so much and the team had a meeting, he made him #1 again.

I'll support whoever runs out there Saturday and I'll cheer for a Bama win.

But I don't have a great deal of confidence in the team at this point.
