Nope but Jimmie Sexton has done a masterful job of making people, especially the ADs of these coaches, think these coaches were actually candidates. Sexton knew when Saban retired it was going to be a massive pay day for him and his clients. Good news is; the more Sexton clients remove their names or sign extensions, the closer we get to an announcement.

Just for the record, a lot of Alabama fans don't want the guy who has two national championships, beating a Nick Saban coached team both of those times either. The guy also recruits the southeast well, played for Alabama and is from Alabama.

Part of the issue is apparently passing obvious choices for less obvious ones...

The reason that they apparently prefer DeBoer over Dabo is that DeBoer is the better coach, especially in the "new" NCAA football world where NIL and the portal have leveled the recruiting field to be primarily about money to a great degree and put much more of a premium on high-quality "on the field" coaching over recruiters.

IMO, Dabo is not even on their long list, much less the short one.

If Byrne is at the facility talking to coaches instead of in the room for contract negotiations, I would say it’s probably a done deal
