Who is Saban's replacement?

Per Mark Schlabach

sources reporting they are negotiating a contract as we speak.
We're going to have to start negotiating with Jerry McGuire clients exclusively. :)

So think what he will do with 60 4* and 5* players.
Lose them?

That's a bit hyperbolic, but he's never dealt with or been able to recruit guys like this. If someone doesn't do it for him there could be a big problem.

Let's see how things look in the next few days with the portal and recruiting, I sure hope things stay calm and he keeps them around.

I hope he hires really good recruiters, because in four years recruiting at Fresno State and Washington he had 16 four stars and 0 five stars and not a single good class.

I mean... his success revolved around Penix and Covid seniors, let's see what else he has in store.
We are talking about Fresno and Washington here. This is Alabama, much bigger beast than either of those combined. We'll be fine

I actually think he would, but only for Bama. He should see being DC at Bama as an opportunity to become head coach there, and from what I heard he wants to be head coach of bama someday
I'm sure he does but would he really leave Kirby? I guess now that we have an offensive minded HC it would benefit him to run a defense without a Kirby/Saban above him

We have plenty of good recruiters in Tuscalloosa now. The guy can coach and young enough to learn especially with the GOAT hanging around!! ;)

maybe why Coach Saban is still around?? if in fact Coach is still going to be involved one way or another as some on here has said. maybe it was a situation of "Look, we really like you as a head coach. Coach Saban has agreed to stay on for the summer to help get your recruiting machine started." i mean seriously, if i came into a job like this and it was known that Coach Saban would "teach" me a few things about recruiting, it would be a no brainer.

I love the Schlabach/Low article how they made a point to say that Deboer had emerged as the leading candidate before Lanning/Sark/Norvel removed themselves from consideration.

If DeBoer is officially announced as the hire, I can almost guarantee the reason Byrne specifically made it a point to say what he said at the beginning about "the rumors" is because DeBoer was THE guy he wanted all along. Just my opinion though.
