'Opportunity of lifetime': DeBoer takes over Tide
Kalen DeBoer, who guided Washington to a Pac-12 championship and a spot in the College Football Playoff National Championship game this past season, was named the next head coach at Alabama, replacing the retired Nick Saban.africa.espn.com
sources reporting they are negotiating a contract as we speak.
I wish. Would he leave Georgia?
Lose them?So think what he will do with 60 4* and 5* players.
I think you do, just to be in place if Deboer leaves or doesn't quite work out.I wish. Would he leave Georgia?
We are talking about Fresno and Washington here. This is Alabama, much bigger beast than either of those combined. We'll be fineI hope he hires really good recruiters, because in four years recruiting at Fresno State and Washington he had 16 four stars and 0 five stars and not a single good class.
I mean... his success revolved around Penix and Covid seniors, let's see what else he has in store.
I'm sure he does but would he really leave Kirby? I guess now that we have an offensive minded HC it would benefit him to run a defense without a Kirby/Saban above himI actually think he would, but only for Bama. He should see being DC at Bama as an opportunity to become head coach there, and from what I heard he wants to be head coach of bama someday

maybe why Coach Saban is still around?? if in fact Coach is still going to be involved one way or another as some on here has said. maybe it was a situation of "Look, we really like you as a head coach. Coach Saban has agreed to stay on for the summer to help get your recruiting machine started." i mean seriously, if i came into a job like this and it was known that Coach Saban would "teach" me a few things about recruiting, it would be a no brainer.I hope he hires really good recruiters, because in four years recruiting at Fresno State and Washington he had 16 four stars and 0 five stars and not a single good class.

Ok, but my whole point is Oats's hiring and whoever we hire as football coach couldn't be more different."THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN" retired this past Wednesday. I don't think many people truly understand what that means to our coaching search and who we ultimately hire.
Dang, Richrod is available too.Remember the RichRod thing, so I don't believe it just yet.
If it is DeBoer is Shumann his DC?
I love the Schlabach/Low article how they made a point to say that Deboer had emerged as the leading candidate before Lanning/Sark/Norvel removed themselves from consideration.
