Good riddance. A shame I won’t enjoy the catch the same way I otherwise would have.
Honestly, that is the only reason that I am sad to see him go. He was cemented in my mind as Alabama because of that play. Now he is the enemy. Which makes that play feel a little different.
From his standpoint though, He's going to where he knows the QB can get him the ball, a lot. Honestly, there's still risk of that NOT happening here . While I think Simpson, Lonergan and Sayin all show signs in practice reps of having the ability to get the ball out fast, Simpson and Lonergan showed that last season also and we still ended up with what we had; a QB who can't get the ball out quickly, in practice or in games, at all...

I think that`s pretty much totally gone......along with the " old" college game as we knew it. I`m already to the point that I don`t care nearly as much as I used to.
You just aren't going to be able to manage your roster the same way you did before. You can't keep guys who may try to divide the locker room. You have to get rid of them. You can't necessarily keep guys and clog up spring practice and take reps from players who can perform in the system.
This will be the most important spring practice in 17yrs. You must have the bought in guys out there. And now its easier to do that than it was in 2007.

But I was constantly told that I was wrong in believing that a quarterback doesn’t affect the receiver room. The receiver position is full of the stereotypical prima Donnas in that they want the ball and the glory. If you don’t give that to them then you have rebellions. There are very few Devonta Smiths at the position.

The Washington coaches put together one of the best group of receivers in the country. They can do it again!
I don't know how he does it but he needs to get the players in player-led pass skews pronto. These guys are just sitting around answering the phone and can't even window shop...

Not surprised. Skill players want the ball...WR/RB/TE....Im surprised some didnt announce before Coach Saban's retirement because another season of the offense we put out this season wouldnt be that inviting for them.
