Bama Game Thread: Official post-game thread - Bama beats Wisconsin 42-10

Well I missed basically the whole game until the last 2/3rds of the 4th quarter. 42-10 seems like we controlled the game and my fears from last week didn’t appear. RTR!

It was a convincing win except for the injuries. Milroe still relies too much on the long throws and, does not find the underneath and crossing routes. I am not sure his inability to find secondary receivers and his reliance on rolling out and running will be successful against teams like UGA and UT.

Pleased with Milroe’s progress. I would still like to see better decision making, but I think we have to live and die with him now.

Our defense needs to learn how to tackle. Overall, we played an A- game, which is good enough to beat everyone on our schedule not named UGA or Tennessee. Losing Russaw might be devastating, but Overton is starting to become a problem for our opponents.
Honestly. I think we'll be okay without Russaw. Q Rob has made some plays

Solid win, but only 2 carries for Haynes seems like a bad idea. Too many designed QB runs when our backs were averaging 8 yards a carry. Better reads by 4, but he still missed a couple. We have lots of weapons and will need to spread the ball around more to beat good teams.

Gray, I can remember several short to intermediate throws that were right on the money, particular the bullet early in the third to Bernard. His longer throws dominated the game. As Bamacpa mentioned above, Milroe ran the ball a little too often.

Hate to see the injuries on both sides today, but a good win. Milroe looked really good at times, but I don't like all the QB designed runs and I don't like the fact that intermediate routes are just not a part of the offense. I think that has more to do with Milroe than scheme, but we are going to need those types of throws in two weeks and beyond.

With that said, we have some serious weapons on offense. I can't imagine there is a team in the country that has more dynamic play makers than us when you consider Milroe, Williams, Miller, Haynes and Bernard. I'm not saying we are the best offense in the country, because we struggle putting drives together, but I believe we are an elite offense. We just stop ourselves from time to time. For instance, I think we only punted today when we went three-and-out three times. Nothing against Prentice, who I think is a solid contributor, or Law, who is dangerous once he gets the ball in his hands (it's just challenging to get the ball in his hands). I just think those two are probably going to take a back seat to the players mentioned above.

On defense, I just worry about the quarterbacks we will be facing soon hitting those streaking receivers that have been there multiple times each game. We just haven't faced a QB that can make those throws, but we will. Otherwise, I think the defense is very good. We faced a very good offensive line today and held our own. They got some rushing yards, but it was also at a point in the game where I think we were okay with letting them run.

Much better

As stated, it appears that slants and crossing routes are just not in his skill set, at least he’s never shown them to be that I can recall. Tua was a master.

Funny. I could swear he beat both teams last season. Granted, every season is different than the last, but suggesting the guy is incapable in the face of direct evidence to the contrary seems strange.

ON THE INJURIES TO MALACHI MOORE, QUA RUSSAW AND RICHARD YOUNG
"Malachi got hit to the head. So I think we're just going through the protocol with him. It helps having the bye week here. So I'm thinking he'll be all right, be fine. Russaw, a lower leg. I don't know exactly where, but I know it is lower and just continue to evaluate him. Richard Young, I think same thing. So just lower leg, I think actually very similar below the knee area. So just continue to evaluate those guys. Definitely good to have a couple weeks here, getting ready."

The killer to me is the injury to Malachi and to Russaw were inflicted by other BAMA players. Everybody was trying to make a play.
