JessN: A Look Ahead to 2025 Roster Moves :: ADDED - 2024-2025 Portal Tracker

Back home from being out of town a few days, we've got the original post updated as of 1/10/25. The only two players without a destination at the moment are WR Jaren Hamilton and S King Mack.

Hey Jess, so now it's Sunday night, 1/12/25. Are we about done with all the comings and goings for now. I can't keep track of all of it. In your opinion, did we end up in a better or worse position going into 2025.

Is APR still a thing?🤔
I mean last year Alabama Signed Steve Mboumoua and he apparently didn't qualify and went to jr college (he resigned with us a month back). But aside from him I don't recall hearing of any player not qualifying. If you dropped serious cash for a player they aren't going to let academics get in the way. After Ohio State wins the next 4 national championships they will clamor for a salary cap and termed contracts which will essentially make the players employees which cannot be tied to academic performance or even participation and will also fall under equal opportunity laws which means eligibility will be a thing of the past. At that point college football will essentially be a direct competitor to the NFL. I can see Alabama vs Dallas Cowboys being a pretty good TV draw.

Maybe we will finally get the answer to age-old question is Alabama good enough to bear the Cleveland Browns...

Steve qualified academically. English is his 3rd language (he's French Canadian and an imigrant from Cameroon) and he didn't pass the english proficiency test. Did a year at juco and he's good to go.

I've been told we've got 1-2 more we're looking at that we are waiting on the championship game to finish up first. The portal will open for OSU and Notre Dame for 5 days after the conclusion of that game.

I hear that Jeremiah Smith guy is pretty good. He could be a good target to go after from Ohio State. 😂

I found that interesting because There isn't anyone that would be interested in us. We'll see after tomorrow.

I don't know about ND's roster, but there's a bunch of ballers on TOSU's team. If any of their receivers want a change of pace, I'd take 'em. They are so loaded a back up for them could become a star at Bama. Remember Jameson?
