Special Counsel Report: Trump Election Subversion Case

For that matter, why is Garland a "loathsome piece of crap"?
Because anyone that would address the press claiming that domestic terrorists, such as the concerned parents that began showing up at school board meetings to protest the direction that schools have been trending towards, were the greatest threat to our nation. He even directed the FBI to help shut these people down. All this while thousands of undocumented people streamed across our borders every day, including people on the terror watch list. That's just one example, but in my eyes completely shameless acts like this mean he will occupy a special place in Hades.

Jack Smith has been fired.
Seems he went a little beyond the truth in his report.
New Jack Smith report reveals why Smith didn't charge Donald Trump with insurrection: Because January 6 was not an insurrection. Or at least Smith was not confident he could convince even a deep-blue DC jury that it was. And whatever it was, he could not prove Trump incited it. https://washingtonpost.com/documents/6f4df207-e97f-4cd7-9a21-9aed8804a530.pdf?itid=lk_inline_manual_5

For those of you who are curious about Smith's report, it's linked here. Have fun!

And that doesn't even touch on his participation in the Banana Republic Lawfare they've been doing for 4 years. I used to think we were better than this, but that's obviously not true....at least, not anymore. And make no mistake, if Harris announces she's running again and Bondi tries to arrest her on BS charges to sabotage her campaign, I will scream about that just as loudly. It is AMAZING how badly TDS has people doing things they would otherwise never do or agree with. Nothing is out of bounds, it seems.

Regardless, we shouldn't lose track of some of the simple facts:
trump called his mis/uninformed minions to DC on day election was to be certified, to raise hell
he used dog whistles to call the likes of the proud boys etc
they came
he met them early in the morning and sent them to the capitol to give them hell
they went
they forcibly broke into capitol, injuring capitol police and causing damage
they wanted to "hang Mike Pense"
they searched for Nancy Pelosi to do harm
they made a mess of the capitol
they wanted to stop the certification
trump sat back for 3 hours enjoying what he saw and did nothing to call them off
QED

trump is a threat to our democracy and should be in jail!

When exactly did he do this?

When exactly did he do this?
Last I recall, this was in late 2021. He was grilled by Congress over this because while he maintained this was about protecting school boards from "threats of violence" he stood accused of using this as an excuse to try to silence angry parents who were fed up with inept and "immoral" decisions being made by various school boards across the country. It should be easy to find via Google.

I suspect the resignations were for vastly different reasons.

But you already knew that.
I did; my point being both knew their asses were toast, so they took the route that allowed for the most dignity....not there really was any, but I'm sure they felt better about themselves. ;)

Your point was to link Smith to Nixon in a "smear by association" move.

Nixon resigned to avoid impeachment; Smith resigned so that Trump couldn't fire him for having the audacity to think that Trump should be held accountable for his actions.

Nonsense. They resigned to avoid being fired...period. I don't have to smear by association; I'll state outright that Smith is trash.

His failure to convict Republicans and Democrats alike show this is not a partisan take. His unanimous loss in the Robert F. McDonnell hearing before SCOTUS earned him a firm reprimand before the same court. He is overzealous and seems to have some rather fanciful interpretations of the law. I'm sure he has a fine reputation among the "get Trump" crowd, but who else?

I realize that Garland probably saw Smith as an expendable attack dog. If Smith got caught tampering with evidence or misleading the court about it (he did) well, that's on him and nothing you can blame Garland for, right? In any case, Smith is not someone you want if you are seriously trying to get a conviction of a powerful person. Had Trump lost the election, one could argue that the investigation and indictment would have fulfilled its true purpose.
Sure doesn't like him, does he? :)

Never mind. It's not worth it.
Respect. I’ve backspaced over several would-be posts before hitting “post reply” in keeping with the new direction of the forum. That’s why we’re still around.
