saw an article this morning where a Chinese restaurant in Madrid was serving pigeon and calling it duck. and not squab. they were literally going into the alley outside and capturing street pigeons and serving it as duck.
Even if it may not be a 'significant' problem, why is there so much opposition from the left to simply verify that one is a US Citizen when they register to vote? As far as I can tell we're the only industrialized nation on earth that doesn't have that requirement (save where voting is mandatory).Despite all the rhetoric, Republicans know that non-citizens voting in federal elections is not a significant problem. So what's their motivation?
I'd be OK with it if the law also made it easy for every American citizen to get the ID. Why not recognize that these regulations will disproportionately affect some populations (many of which just happen to be more likely to vote Democrat) and provide solutions to that issue? There should be as few roadblocks as possible when it comes to giving every American the right and opportunity to vote.Even if it may not be a 'significant' problem, why is there so much opposition from the left to simply verify that one is a US Citizen when they register to vote? This excuse seems lame to me. I don't know how anyone can live at all in the US without some form of ID, even if's just a birth certificate.I'd be OK with it if the law also made it easy for every American citizen to get the ID.
