Probably not.

#4 is as high as we can go without 1-3 Losing a game.

The FSU loss objectively gets worse every week.

But it doesn't matter at this point. As long as we don't lose more than 1 more game max the rest of the way we would be a lock for the playoffs.

10-2 with our SOS and with our Wins already against Top 20 teams is a lock.

We already are ranked above 3 unranked teams, but you mean committee rankings.

Initial rankings, there is a possibility, but final playoff rankings no. Current undefeated BYU will have a loss by the time the committee first gives their rankings. As much as I love Navy, they will not be undefeated then either. Tech could still be undefeated then and I think they will be. We will be ranked ahead of them. We might be ranked ahead of Indiana when the initial rankings come out.

Sure. The Committee may very well move us ahead ... of A&M. And I'm not being cute with that statement.

"All you SEC people can stop your whining now. See? We DID move a 1-loss SEC team ahead of an undefeated team. So shut-up!"

I doubt it. We have a much better SOS than Texas A&M. They've only played 1 ranked team...Notre Dame. Bama has beat 4. But undefeated is undefeated.

After our week one debacle, I never thought we would be ranked 4th with four top-17 wins, but here we are. Can we keep it up for one more week before getting a break with the bye week? We shall see.

I'm fine with Bama being #4, but I think we all know Bama is likely a top 2 team right now, based on resume. I think if Bama played IU or A&M right now, I think Bama beats both teams. Only team I am not as confident (but more 50/50) about Bama beating is Ohio State.

Genuinely curious how the committee views the wins. Is it wins vs ranked at the time of the game, or wins vs current ranking?

It'll be very interesting to see if SOS carries any weight with the Committee this time.

It’s funny, or maybe not, but FSU has the most impressive win of the season based on rankings, and we have the second most impressive win.

I still think we are a very incomplete team that has persevered the last month, but is nowhere near having peaked yet.

It will come at some point, and when it does it will be impressive to watch whether you’re a fan or not.

I thought at the beginning of the year we might have a similar season as Ohio State did last year, and I see no reason to think otherwise at this point. I’m not saying it will culminate into a national title, but I like our chances as much as anyone other team right now.
