There are a few teams that will likely not be changing anytime soon...or ever and Bama leads the list! The only change that I can remember Bama's uniform ever having is whether or not a name is on the back of the jersey! As far back as I can remember, we've always used a crimson helmet with a white stripe down the middle and white numbers and then either a plain white or crimson shirt with opposite colored numbers and finally white pants with two crimson stripes down the sides. I have pictures dating back to the 40's or 50's and it's always been the same.

I KNOW that I will get blasted for this but ...... I would like to see a little bit added to our's like the UK one with the white stripes on it.. Add a little white to it and maybe the LOGO on the helmet would be cool as well... Not all the time but it would be cool to have a black uniform to wear against our sworn enemies (no names needed)...

Ok FLAME AWAY~!~ (ducking for cover as I submit).......:pDT_Aliboronz_02::pDT_Armataz_01_40::pDTC_005::pDT_kngt::pDT_duel::s-telefrag::s-instagib::s-minigun::fplasma::fripper:

Alan you need more pics. Bama wore white helmets with crimson stripe and numbers before changing to crimson with white stripe and even used the white helmets a few times after the change. Bama also had stripes and numbers on the sleeves of the jersey. We wore tear away jerseys till they were outlawed and there has been shoe changes from black to white to black again. Same for socks Bama has changed the uniforms fairly often but very subtle changes nothing that would make your head spin. And don't forget the houndstooth collar a couple seasons ago.

Joanna: You know what, Stan, if you want me to wear 37 pieces of flair, like your pretty boy over there, Brian, why don't you just make the minimum 37 pieces of flair?
Stan, Chotchkie's Manager: Well, I thought I remembered you saying that you wanted to express yourself.
Joanna: Yeah. You know what, yeah, I do. I do want to express myself, okay. And I don't need 37 pieces of flair to do it.

Hawai'i has made pretty big changes to their uniforms. The following is a photo of Colt Brennan wearing the old unis:

And here is an artistic drawing of the new uniforms that they will be wearing in the 2008 season:

Personally, I think the new ones look better. The old ones had way too much black on the home uniforms, and the road unis had way too much white. This is a better balance.

The new uni's are an improvement for Hawaii. Never did like their old ones.
Oregon should just stick to the white uni's, they're not as bad as the others. KY's looks pretty good, better than the old ones, which I found to be quite plain. I'm surprised Ole Miss is going back to the dull gray pants, Maybe its an old school thing for them but I don't like those at all; IMO, their uni's looked better with the new silver pants.

As for BAMA, I'm not opposed to changes in the BAMA uni's (should they happen), but I like the ones they currently wear too. They're classic without being boring. But I would like to see them wear the houndstooth uni's a little more often, for special games. That would be pretty cool.:BigA:

That's the only change that I will accept if there were to be any change to Alabama unis. I don't even wanna see the old white helmets, I love the crimson helmets.

Question about VaTech's throwback unis, I noticed that the dude in the pic was holding a white helmet with real old school facemask. Is VaTech going with the old school facemasks?

Not everyone is adverse to changing the uniforms.

I remember when the jerseys used to be Crimson.

I would like to make a motion that we adopt that color again.

Count me out on the houndstooth collars. That just reminds me of needing overtime to squeak by a terrible, Ed Orgeron led, 4-8 Ole Miss team, at home -- what a way to "honor" someone like Bryant, eh?

I like what we've got, no reason to change it. It's a beautiful ensemble, it's one of the best uniforms in all of football, and we are known nationally for having that classic look. If it's not broke, don't fix it.

I really wouldn't complain much if the face masks changed to white, shoes changed to white, socks changed and jerseys returned to crimson.

I am very certain that Bama will never make any dramatic changes to the uniforms. And I am very thankful for that. I would faint if I saw Bama wearing some stupid logo on our helmets. Why change perfection? ;)

Meh.

I never understand this discussion, although I can tell the season is close when it pops up.

Alabama has no need to try and invent instant tradition by changing the uniform. Leave that to the Vandy's, the UAB's and etc... of the world.

We also have no reason to change anything to increase merchandise sales or to pad Nike's pocketbooks. We are consistently one of the top rated Universities in sales numbers of licensed products. We had no need to change to the constipated elephant logo, which was one of the worst decisions the school ever made. Thank God they've gone away from it to the script "A" and the Athletic Seal.

Alabama's uni's are perfect just the way they are: Classy, understated and perennial, like the program they represent.

What I want to see is a team on the field that does the uniform proud, and I think that's just what Coach Saban is concerned with giving us, not some tarted-up Wal-Mart/NFL Europe looking uniform.
