OT Cyrus Kouandjio signed with Alabama.

Nation's Top Offensive Lineman Cyrus Kouandjio Picks Crimson Tide - ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE - University of Alabama Official Athletic Site
Feb. 5, 2011

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Alabama announced the addition of the nation's top offensive lineman, Cyrus Kouandjio, to the Crimson Tide's 2011 signing class Saturday evening.

Kouandjio brings UA's 2011 recruiting class to 24 total student-athletes, including nine players who enrolled in January for classes at the Capstone and will participate in spring drills. The Tide's signing class comes from 10 states - Alabama (7), Florida (4), Georgia (3), Ohio (2), Tennessee (2), Maryland (1), California (1), Louisiana (1), North Carolina (1) and Mississippi (1). The Crimson Tide also went outside the United States to land defensive lineman Jesse Williams from Brisbane, Australia.

Listed by position, UA added six defensive linemen, four offensive linemen, four wide receivers, three defensive backs, three linebackers, two running backs, one tight end and one quarterback. Below is a biography of the Crimson Tide's latest addition.

Cyrus Kouandjio
OL, 6-6, 322, Hyattsville, Md./DeMatha
Cyrus Kouandjio is one of the elite prospect at any position in the 2011 signing class ... the younger brother of 2010 Alabama freshman Arie ... the consensus top offensive line prospect in the nation by Rivals.com, ESPNU, Scout.com, SuperPrep and Tom Lemming ... the No. 2 overall player nationally by Scout.com and SuperPrep Magazine ... No. 3 prospect in the ESPNU 150 and third nationally by Tom Lemming at MaxPreps ... Rivals.com ranked Kouandjio as the No. 4 player in the country ... an overpowering run blocker with excellent athleticism ... tremendous overall speed and quickness for a player his size ... started at left tackle in the Under Armour All-American Game ... SuperPrep All-American and the No. 1 player in the MidAtlantic Region ... SuperPrep MidAtlantic Offensive Player of the Year ... a consensus first-team All-State selection in Maryland ... held over 60 scholarship offers ... chose the Crimson Tide over virtually every major college football program.

This article was written prior to Cyrus Kouandjio signing with Bama. You can plug him in with the other headliners.

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Signing Day Blitz: Ranking the SEC
Signing Day Blitz: Ranking the SEC

1. Alabama

Headliner: The Tide went down to Florida to grab the country's top safety prospect, Hasean Clinton-Dix.
Sleeper: Three-star quarterback Phillip Ely wasn't a flashy signing, but he comes from a winning program and fits Alabama's offensive style.
Overview: This class not only has star power, but is incredibly balanced. Clinton-Dix and running back Demetrius Hart, his high school teammate, are five-star prospects and each has the ability to contribute early in their careers. As usual, the Tide did exceptionally well on the defensive line. On Wednesday, Alabama landed four-star defensive end Jeoffrey Pagan at the last minute. He joins fellow four-star linemen Quinton Dial, Xzavier Dickson, LaMichael Fanning, D.J. Pettway and Jesse Williams. At linebacker, Rivals100 recruit Trey DePriest is the headliner with four-star prospect Brent Calloway being a wild card. A last minute-flip from Auburn, Calloway would prefer to play running back, but it wouldn't be a shock to see him end up on defense at some point. Marvin Shinn headlines a strong crop of receivers. All told, the Tide landed seven members of the Rivals100.

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Signing Day 2011: The top 25 teams
A look at top 25 signing classes
1. Alabama
Head of the class: DB Hasean Clinton-Dix, APB Demetrius Hart
Buzz: Alabama held on to the top spot by turning linebacker Brent Calloway back to Alabama after he had decommitted to Auburn earlier in January. The Crimson Tide also added defensive end Jeoffrey Pagan on National Signing Day. Offensive tackle Cyrus Kouandjio remains in the picture as he has yet to officially sign, after pledging to Auburn on national television Wednesday. Nick Saban's class is very strong at the top with the nation's top safety (Clinton-Dix) and top all-purpose back (Hart) bound for Tuscaloosa. In total, Alabama landed 10 of the nation's top 250 prospects.

JUCO WR Duron Carter committed to Alabama. He will sign and enroll at UA in June for the first summer session. He will have three years to play two and count toward the 2011 signing class.

Scout.com: Duron Carter will play for the Crimson Tide
Duron Carter, son of Cris Carter who is well known as a former NFL wide receiver, will enroll at the University of Alabama for the first summer session. He is eligible to play this fall.

Carter started out his college career for Ohio State, and as a true freshman had 13 receptions for more than 160 yards and scored once. He left Ohio State due to academic reasons and had a great season last fall at Coffeyville, Kansas Juco with 10 touchdowns for 690 yards on 44 receptions.
