This is the first thing he has done in weeks that is actually presidential. It’s about time. Kudos.
ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE — President Donald Trump started his day like so many others at his south Florida resort: a relaxing round of golf, a few sharp tweets and then a White House announcement that he’d be staying in for the evening.
But this particular Wednesday — the night before Thanksgiving — ended with Trump escaping Mar-a-Lago without the usual presidential motorcade spectacle, boarding a military transport to Washington and then embarking on a 13-hour Air Force One flight into the heart of America’s longest war.
This is the first thing he has done in weeks that is actually presidential. It’s about time. Kudos.

President Trump signed an executive order establishing a task force to address the rash of violence against missing and murdered American Indians and Alaska natives, an issue the administration has been focusing on in recent months. The executive order comes after Attorney General William Barr's rollout of a nationwide plan on Friday.
Mr. Trump was joined by Barr and several administration officials when signing the executive order, as well as a number of Native American tribal leaders. Mr. Trump told reporters present that executive action on the issue "should've been done a long time ago."
Shannon Holsey, president of the Stockbridge-Munsee Community Band of Mohican Indians, said in a statement after the executive order was signed that it was an "important first step."
Sad that the bar has now been set so lowThis is the first thing he has done in weeks that is actually presidential. It’s about time. Kudos.
Scott Morrison has spoken with Donald Trump and thanked the US for its role in securing the release of former Taliban hostage Timothy Weeks.
The Prime Minister called the US President on Monday morning and conveyed his appreciation for Washington’s role in helping to.. .secure the release of the NSW teacher, who was released last week after being held captive in Afghanistan for three years.
The deal, which also saw US hostage Kevin King released, was struck between the Taliban, the Afghan government and the Trump administration.
The freedom of three senior Taliban commanders had been bartered in exchange for that of the two Westerners.
Mr Trump also “commended” Australia’s response to this month’s bushfire crisis, while Mr Morrison thanked the US for sending their firefighters to help tackle the blazes.
After years of imprisonment that sparked an international furor, Turkey has released North Carolina Pastor Andrew Brunson into the custody of US diplomatic personnel. He’ll soon fly to a US air base in Germany before heading back to the United States.
Brunson was held by Turkish authorities for two years, charged with unproven crimes that he was involved in espionage. But after months of trying, the Trump administration struck a deal with Turkish officials to bring the pastor home.
Upon hearing the news on Friday, Trump tweeted “My thoughts and prayers are with Pastor Brunson, and we hope to have him safely back home soon!”
so presidential.and all we had to do was screw over the Kurds and not officially recognize a previous Turkish Genocide. What a deal maker!
Uh that was from October 2018 fwiw.
