Anybody see this guy? What a tool. Bernie Sanders campaign worker who Refers to himself as a Libertarian/Communist....must be like a christian/atheist. I am not going to post the u tube links because of language, but would certainly be worth a look for the chuckles if it weren't so sad.

Be careful out there folks...crazy is everywhere.

Nope. No buts. Steve Miller does not even factor in to the discussion. This is a guy who says that what happened in Cuba needs to happen here. If you oppose the revolution, you are executed. He goes on to say that people who don't believe as he does should be put in reeducation camps and gulags.

He is a campaign field organizer for a major candidate. His behavior and beliefs don't warrant your condemnation?

Agreed. This guy feels the Bern a little too much. I would be willing to bet that he has no idea what half of the terms he is using actually mean...I know he is completely ignorant of what makes a Libertarian.

there we will disagree

Bernie is more of a Libertarian than anyone I've seen in the GOP, he is just a left leaning one.

I have always considered the libertarian movement to be progressive. It certainly started out as a progressive movement.

I have never known a Libertarian who follows the "join the revolution or die" philosophy. That's what this guy is saying. Maybe we practice a different flavor? The Bern is all about some big government...not a Libertarian at all.

Not caring about this dude

look up what Bernie actually advocates for. Last election cycle I took one of those what candidate is best for you polls based on actual positions. I got 84% aligned with both Berni and Gary Johnson. Bernie is far and away the best candidate for personal freedom in this cycle

Look up the word - it has a lot of different flavors, but starts with placing personal freedom #1 on every list of objectives. Bernie does that more than any other candidate.

BTW, Bernie is not about "big government". The government would be less than half its current size if he had his way, starting with the virtual elimination of the US military.

He supports government programs, but so does every political party. Want to eliminate the US Postal Service? How about the CDC, FAA, SEC, and any other of the many government programs which are vital to our safety and integrity of our country? Folks think that he doesn't fit their government ideal because he supports something that they do not support - a single payer medical system - and because he calls himself something that they do not understand - a democratic socialist.

I am not a Sanders supporter, but people do not listen closely enough to what he has to say. Most have no idea what he really wants to achieve. It won't work in America, but I respect his ideals. He is too wrapped up in his thoughts of "economic justice".

The biggest difference between these two is Steven Miller is actually running our immigration policies out of the White House. Both are complete tools!

If you don't think Sanders policy would lead to bigger, more intrusive government, well then we will just have to disagree.
I can’t help but admire Sanders for his conviction. Whether or not you agree with his political position, Bernie is a patriot that is running to try both protect and better his country. I don’t think for a minute that he is a candidate seeking glory and power. If he is, there are easier ways to go about it than swimming upstream all the time.

Many people do not grasp how much wealth is controlled by a very few. In the video below Bernie states that the world’s wealthiest 26 people have more wealth than the poorest 3.8 billion. Doing the math that means one person has more than 146 million. The population of Russia is approximately 145 million. Imagine if one person in Russia controlled more than the rest of the country combined and the entire country was struggling economically. Or if three people had more wealth than the rest of the US population.

The GOP uses the word socialism as a scare tactic. I am a Libertarian or a classic liberal in that I believe that government’s crucial purpose is to protect the rights of the individual. But that doesn’t mean all socialism is bad. The national parks are a form of socialism where the citizens of the US collectively all own the parks. This is a blessing not only for us but for future generations. The right answer lies in using common sense to determine when unbridled capitalism must be reigned in and socialism is appropriate.

Bernie definitely deserves serious listen. The video is about 45 minutes long but in that time Bernie states a compelling, well reasoned argument. He’s certainly not my first choice, but if he gets the Democratic nomination he’ll get my financial support. His form of socialism does not represent the ruin of the country.

That is a good, well reasoned post. Thanks. I agree that Bernie is 100% all in on what he believes. I think he would stand a much better chance within his own party if he were 58 instead of 78. He is going to continue to have a problem with "casual" voters, meaning those that don't spend a lot of effort researching candidates.

Like it or not, calling himself a democratic socialist costs votes with undecideds. Being a millionaire and campaigning against the wealthy costs him votes. Granted, from all I can tell he lives rather meagerly when compared to other millionaires, but most voters are not going to take the time to dig deep into his lifestyle.

He has worked hard to vilify and single out Bezos (among other billionaires), and their wealth accumulation. When asked about his millionaire status, he kind of snootily replied something to the effect of(paraphrasing from memory here) "I am a best selling author. If you write a best seller you get to be a millionaire too."

I agree with that, but then why can't Bezos say "Well I started the most successful company in recent memory. If you start a big successful company you get to be a billionaire too." Is the difference a dollar amount? Who gets to decide when you have made enough money? And why? Heck, for a poor boy like me, Bernie's 2-3 million is just as out of reach as Bezos' billions.
