This Sunday, at noon CDT., a couple of deadlift records could fall. Rauno Heinla of Estonia and Russia's Ivan Makarov are looking to break Hafthor Bjornsson's deadlift world record by attempting 502 kg.

Former Russian Marine Mikhail Shivlyakov is looking to break the master's deadlift world record. At the moment, I'm not sure what his target will be, but he will need lift more than the 435 kg lifted by Ireland's James Hickey last month.

One record deadlift was all that was in the cards today.

Ivan Markarov failed at 502 kg (1106.7 lbs) . . .

Which prompted Rauno Heinla to settle for 455 kg (1103 lbs) to win the head to head competition and a little prize money . . .

Then, an amazing pull from Mikhail Shivlyakov to break the Master's Deadlift World Record (40+ years old) with a pull of 436 kgs (961.2 lbs). He didn't quite have it in him during season 1 of Feats of Strength, but today he put absolutely everything he had into the lift and fought through to get the lock out, and the record. And, of course, it comes with his trademark nosebleed. 😵 Also, it's great to heard the commentators cheering for Shivlyakov during the lift.

And, if you want to see/hear why Shivlyakov is one of the most liked/loved strongmen in the world today, listen to his post-lift remarks.
