Some things never change.

I was telling a friend the other day how arrogant it is for us to think humanity is somehow different / more progressed than people were 50, 100, 1,000 years ago. Our cultures change, but humans haven't changed.

Anything that we look at and say "see? we're better now, we'd never do that" is almost certainly being done by people somewhere on earth, whether it's genocide, slavery, etc.

And where will all this spare power come from. There were times during their winter crisis when I suspected he was totally ignorant of the basics of power. Now I know it. I hope he does run for president. He'll be one more Texas politician who flames out the first time he's asked a question more complex than "which way's the toilet?"...
