Leading Off
• Alabama and Georgia will meet for the 153rd time in series history when the teams open the 2022 SEC Tournament on Tuesday morning at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium. • The two cross-divisional foes met earlier this season in Tuscaloosa from April 22-24. The then-10th ranked Bulldogs came away with a 2-1 series win. Georgia won game one, 4-2, before securing the series with a 3-0 victory in game two of the weekend. Alabama rallied for a 3-0 win in Sunday's weekend finale.
• Alabama and Georgia last met in Hoover on May 22, 2008. The Crimson Tide came away victorious in that game, earning a 5-2 win over the Bulldogs. The first matchup between the two teams in the SEC Tournament came on May 11, 1986, in Baton Rouge with a 6-4 final favoring UGA. The second meeting occurred on May 19, 2000, in Hoover, a 12-4 win for the Tide.

About Alabama
• Alabama earned a spot in the 2022 SEC Tournament thanks to a pair of wins over fifth-ranked Arkansas from Thursday through Saturday. The Tide fell in the series opener before bouncing back for a win on Friday to secure Hoover. Alabama followed the win in game two with a dominant showing in the regular-season finale for the series-clinching victory.
• The series win at home against Arkansas was Alabama's first since 2011 and was the Tide's first series victory against the Hogs in any location since 2016 in Fayetteville.
• Alabama fell, 7-3, on Thursday night at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The Tide gained an early 3-0 advantage, but Arkansas came right back to post a five-run fifth to take the lead for good. The Razorbacks added two in the ninth for the 7-3 final.
Garrett McMillan held the Razorbacks hitless through the first four frames before running into trouble in that fifth. The junior finished with 5.1 innings pitched, allowing five runs on five hits and a walk with four strikeouts in the loss.
• A six-run fifth ensured an 8-6 win for the Crimson Tide on Friday.
• The six-run fifth came with the Tide trailing 4-1, as Arkansas was able to post single tallies in the second and fourth to go with a two-spot in the fifth. Alabama's first run came in fourth before the six in the fifth to give the Crimson Tide a 7-4 advantage after five full.
• A solo home run in the sixth from Andrew Pinckney added one more for the Tide with the Hogs battling for two in the seventh for the eventual 8-6 final.
• All nine Tide starters reached on Friday with seven of the nine recording at least one hit, including four two-hit efforts.
Jacob McNairy picked up his sixth win of the season, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks with a career-high tying seven strikeouts in 5.0 innings of work on 'Senior Night'.
• McNairy turned the ball over to his bullpen with Brock Guffey and Dylan Ray combining to keep the Hogs scoreless over the final 2.1 frames. Ray picked up his sixth save of the season thanks to a game-ending strikeout.
• Alabama's offensive explosion led to an 18-5 series-clinching win on Saturday afternoon.
• The Tide used 11 hits and a season-best 11 walks to post a season-high 18 runs. Alabama scored six apiece in the second and fourth innings while adding one in third and five in the fifth. Arkansas got the early lead with two in the first and added one in the fourth to go with another pair in the sixth but could get no closer for the 18-5 final.
• Alabama's 18 runs were the most scored against Arkansas in series history and the most in SEC play since 2014.
• The Tide offense drew 11 walks in game three led by Owen Diodati and his four free passes with Jim Jarvis and Drew Williamson each tallying a pair of walks themselves. The trio of Diodati, Jarvis and Williamson were joined by Dominic Tamez for the team high in runs scored with three apiece.
Bryce Eblin and William Hamiter led UA in RBI, combining for nine total. Eblin recorded a team-best five RBI as part of a 1-for-4 showing that included a grand slam and two runs scored, while Hamiter added four RBI and finished 2-for-4 with a home run and one run.
Antoine Jean picked up the win with 3.0 relief frames, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk with two Ks.

A 1995 graduate of Kent State, Stricklin is joined on staff by associate head coach Scott Daeley, assistant coach Sean Kenny and volunteer assistant coach Brock Bennett.
• Georgia was selected to finish third in the Eastern Division and sixth overall in the Southeastern Conference in the league's preseason poll, as voted on by the conference's head coaches.

Back in Hoover
• Alabama returns to SEC Tournament for the second time in as many years when the Crimson Tide squares off with Georgia in the Tuesday, May 24 play-in game at The Met. The Tide is appearing in back-to-back Tournaments for the first time since the 2015-16 seasons.

We're off to a good start, leading 5-1. However, the game is in a rain delay going into the bottom of the 3rd.

RTR. Looks like they arent going to play the 3rd game tonight. I would think they would attempt to get in as many as possible. It would be done by midnight if the rain holds off.
