Bama Game Thread: MBB Bama vs UT in Coleman - Sat Jan 24 - 7:30 CST ESPN

I didnt feel that tonight we were bad like we were in some other losses. We didnt hit shots when it mattered, missed FTs, and missed the guys who are out. But it felt different and I thought we gave effort.
That said, We have to win our home conference games.

Don't like it but not as upset by this one, just because of Holloway and Allen out. Really encouraged by Wrightsell tonight. I know it is a giant "IF" but get Holloway, Allen back with Wrightsell playing well and Bediako (if he wins in court), then we'll be peaking at the right time.

Observations:
- teams have figured out that hack a shaq method of defense wont get called and thus they utilize it against us
- Williamson isnt an SEC talent
- we never get home cookin
- our shooting has gone on vacation
It's embarrassing when the refs allow BB to be thugball. UT should have had multiple guys foul out with ten minutes to go in the game... but the zebras lacked the courage to call the game evenly. I don't fault UT... I'd tell my guys keep doing it and more as long as they don't call it. In addition to the things that are mentioned here, I think we see how important Allen is to this team. Along with Philon, he's the guy who can successfully slash to the basket against bigs like UT has.

As far as the shooting goes, UT intentionally guarded the perimeter and challenged us to slash to the basket. It's been a kryptonite for us over the past few years... shooters need room and you've got to be able to finish at the rim to get teams out of that game plan. All in all, it was a good effort from our guys and in a normally called game, we walk away with a W with two of our most important guys out.

Obviously Holloway being out is never good but it really felt like we missed Allen tonight. Needed another guy who could get to the rim consistently.
