Is Florida’s coach still a pedo stalker creep? No need to answer. We know what it is. UF has proven they’ll sweep whatever under the rug as long as you win.

We were exposed.

Florida's has three players of 6’10” or more who flew up and down the court like gazelles, who were fast enough to defend our guards, strong enough to dominate the paint and skilled enough to score from just about anywhere on the court. They are complete basketball players who run, jump, tomahawk dunk, shoot the three and defend and rebound relentlessly.

Our bigs, by comparison, play small. They aren’t particularly athletic. They don’t rebound or pass effectively, nor can they defend the paint or out on the floor.

We knew this going in. Our guards had to win this game as long as our front court was not overwhelmed. They were overwhelmed, a mismatch compounded by the collective inability of Philon, Wrightsell and Holloway to get open looks, guard anybody or take care of the ball. Fland had his game of the year. Surprised?

Time after time, we’d force a switch and a Florida big would singlehandedly smother our offense. And we had no answer. Philon was a man without a country.

The size and talent gap was that stark.

A couple of things here (and just my opinion):
This team is not playing "together" like teams in the past.
We're weaker than some of these teams we're playing and we have a serious problem on defense.
I'm sure CNO sees what the issues are and I believe he will do what he needs to do to address them.
I do think CNO needs to address possibly changing his analytics some in regards to having BIGS who are athletic but can also muscle in under the basket and protect the rim.
Need to address strength and conditioning (more so the strength side) for sure. And I would like to see CNO run a bootcamp like he did in earlier years to build team work. Need to find some more Noah Clowneys and Herb Jones type players.
Again, just my 2 cents worth.

Sherrell plays soft under the basket; had the ball inside numerous times and could not finish.
Then got schooled by Condon and Haugh on defense.

Coach Oats offense is guard friendly and three point friendly, every one knows this, he likes the three and getting to the foul line,if these things aren't working we are toast, go back and look at stats from previous games wins and losses, look at 2pt baskets and percentage, maybe we need more of these

Really bad judgement and smacks of desperation.
Whoever evaluated #15 as a good target needs to go. The first time I saw him it was obvious he didn't belong in the SEC. I think that miss caused the whole CB situation
That and the freshman big with the health issues

Great coaches have always had the ability to honestly self-scout and make changes where needed. Oats is a pretty stubborn dude - I wonder if he can adapt his system to deal with “physical” teams when the refs swallow their whistles, which is basically always these days. Even his best teams struggled with the goonball squads. Wouldn’t hurt to subject S&C, portal evaluation, and OOC scheduling to some scrutiny.

He needs 6’ 6”-6’ 9” dudes that have power and attack the rim. (Miller, Clowney, Herb, Nelson). We don’t have that this year. Not yet anyways.

This is still about the NCAA Tournament. Not many teams have bigs like Florida. We are still a sweet 16 team in a down year.

We were overwhelmed in the pain, but the one playe that made the most difference was: Rueben Chinyelu · who measures 6' 10", 265 lbs.

I still contend just one or two players similar to him would transform our softness into toughness.

He made a mockery of us to the Florida fans. Showing off his biceps every time he made a play. Our reputation for not being tough is out there. We've got to change the narrative!

But; he beat us with his feet, not his biceps.

It's the total package...yes defensively he can move well, but his bulk makes him like a moving wall of defense.

But I was thinking more about his offensive/defensive rebounding. He was relentless!

And then you combine that with the athleticism of the UF 7 footers who can plan the entire length of the court and that's where we come up lacking.

Those 7 footers are the kind of players CNO desires, but to this point we've not been able to get them on the roster.

But even without them, to my point, a guy or two who can outmuscle you in the paint would be the 1st order of change.

Whew, glad I was busy and couldn't watch that one.

They had 13 steals to our 1.

They had 25 points off 17 turnovers, we had 0 points off of 2. I don't understand how it is possible to have that big a discrepancy.

You missed nothing. We played them evenly for about 10 minutes and the last 30 were terrible.

At one point in the second half, I think we had 4 or 5 straight trips of turnovers that they converted into layups or dunks on the other end. We looked like an 8th grade middle school team in stretches! It was really a total team collapse, including coaching.

Case in point: At the half it was 36-46 and CNO never called a TO to end a dominant run in the 1st half. In the second half it was 36-58 (IIRC) just past the first media/under 4 TO. Still CNO never called a TO to set up a play. This was the type of game we never could afford to get behind more than 4-6 points. Anything beyond that and the game was over. It was basically over at the half!

SM blasted us after the game with many posts using the word "embarrassed."

Well, after that debacle yesterday does everyone believe me now that Oats style of play will never win a NC? Get ready for loses in the next two games as well. Honestly, I don't think CB is much help. He really hasn't made that much of a difference in the three games he has played in. Plus, we're just the butt of a lot of jokes in all this mess. Totally embarrassed yesterday just like we were in the Rose Bowl. I hate to be critical, but let's face it, there is just no change from game to game.

I disagree about CB. He makes us better. We clearly are lacking at the 4 and 5 spots. With Beds in Sherrell can play the 4. It's our best lineup until one of them comes out.

Having said that, I'm not sure the negative spotlight has been worth it. We are 1-2 with him and have lost to 2 of the best teams in the league.

CB is simply a band-aid to a struggling team right now.

Hey everyone......

FWIW - I actually thought you would win this game.

You have a VERY good team and a VERY good coaching staff and I still think you will make some noise in the Dance this year.

Lot of basketball to play.......let's see what happens next game.

No. Look at what his teams have done in the tourney. They have lost to the champion, second place team and final 4. They aren’t losing to chumps. As far as physicality they have consistently beaten Houston and others. Purdue, Gonzaga, UF and Tenn are thorns. Hopefully S&C changes a little and how he coaches defense.

CNO is the best Bama coach ever and a smart guy that’s super competitive so think he will start adjusting more. Think he tried something new with his roster this year. Didn’t work. Let’s not go crazy with one season of avg play and missed player evaluations. UConn stunk last year and is back so it happens.

Looks like new people to bball section have waited for a down year to pop in.
