My business partner's son was an architect at one of those firms in ATL that does international hotels. He got caught up in the big purge of 2008/2009...

  6. Link: Re: Wheels already falling off at FSU for Willie Taggart.

Since you mentioned elevation, I thought maybe you were taking that into account too. It's pretty common for people in cardio sports to train in CO and UT so that they can train at elevation. They...

I had to look up the elevation, Boise is only at 2730', so there isn't a mountain benefit, but I agree about the heat/humidity part of it.
  8. JessN: Re: Duke wrap-up: Bama’s air show took the wind out of Duke’s sails

The write-up has this civil (structural) engineer looking in the mirror, a little confused, and just possibly thankful that he's not from the Delta. :)

News Article: Re: Daishen Nix talks UCLA commitment

So he committed after what appears to be his first visit. This probably isn't over.
  10. Re: Lost a good one here in Pensacola this week R.I.P. Ben McLeod

I can remember trick or treating from his house with his kids in probably the early 80's. My mom and aunt grew up friends with his wife and SIL. They all still meet up and visit from time to time.

    Re: Ole Miss cheer

I've never heard of it being referred to as the Ole Miss cheer. I had no idea it came from OM: https://www.al.com/sports/2016/09/whats_better_rammer_jammer_or.html

  13. Re: Chris Cuomo threatens a man who called him “Fredo”

Urban Dictionary says that the phrase came about because Fredo in The Godfather was sort of the black sheep of the family, the screw-up. I'd never heard the term and didn't remember that it was a...

    Re: Who is Jeffrey Epstein?

I've only scanned this thread, so I may be mentioning something already covered. A buddy and I were trading the typical memes about all of this and he had a good point. He was in the wait and see...

Re: How Southern Are You? (A Quiz)

32/35. I'd never heard the herd of turtles or the sweeper one. Heck, use the head made more sense to me than use the sweeper. I'm a sailor, though, so that's why I answerd, "head." The other one...
