Just my $.02: You hit a coach\staff member then you're out. I don't care about your talent, the money that has been poured into you or whatever. When you let a player hit a staff member and "get away with it" you open up a box that can't be closed back.

I wonder if Byrne and Murph are in "discussions" as to what needs to take place in way of philosophy prior to hiring a batting coach because that might make a difference on who they may hire.

Question: How is it a terrible idea to make a multi-year NIL deal with someone? What happens if he doesn't make it to the league? What does he have to fall back on? If I were the recruit I would be of a mind that this school really wants me if they are willing to offer me a multi year deal.

Please don't compare quitting smoking to learning to hold on to the football. I quit smoking over 20 yrs ago and could go buy a pack of Lucky Strike's or Camels and start right back up. JM has had 3 yrs in the system to learn to hold on to the ball.

Some of it could be ,and likely is, on the offense but let's give the defense some credit. Maybe the defense is just that much better with a new DC at the helm.
