    2021 CWS discussion thread

    Vandy/Arizona has been a really good game. Arizona got three off Rocker in the first. Vandy finally took a 1 run lead only to see Arizona rally to tie it in the top of the 9th. It's currently 6-6 going to the bottom of the 11th. NC State pounded Stanford in the opener 10-4.

    Prielipp to have surgery

    It's being reported (by Kendall Rogers and Cecil) that Connor Prielipp will have Tommy John surgery Thursday. He will miss the rest of this year and all of the 2022 season as well. Hate that for the kid, and the team.

    Sue Grafton "alphabet" mystery writer passes

    Sue, the creator of the Kinsey Millhone books, has passed. She was 77. Her last book was 'Y is for Yesterday' and left her one book short of having one book for each letter of the alphabet. I always enjoyed her books, especially the earlier ones. RIP Miss Sue, and Kinsey.

    Game 1: Tennessee

    UT puts up a 3 spot in the first, 2 runs on a HR from Senzel. UT 3-0. Bama with 2 in the third. RBI's for Webb and Short. UT 3-2. In the 4th Bama gets runners on 1st and 3rd with one out. Salem pops up to SS and Haynie ground out to end the threat. Going to the 5th, UT still leads 3-2.

    Bama sweeps auburn

    Bama posts an 8 spot in the top of the 9th, beats auburn 14-4 to sweep the tigers in auburn for the first time since the early 80's. A good weekend for our guys - a nice response to Gaspard's comments following last weekend sweep by the pigs. Some positive momentum going into the Vandy series.

    Well, glad we won game 1. The Gators strike for 5 runs on 7 hits in the bottom of the first. I think Carter was pitching, err maybe throwing is a better description, for us. Long way to go. Going to the 2nd, 5-0 UF.

    After 5 Bama trailed 4-2. A big rally in the 7th, scoring 7 to take a 9-4 lead. UF battling right back, has plated 3 runs thus far (including a 2-run HR) to close the gap to 9-7 with one out.
