I was listening to Will Clark today talking about something Tony Gwynn taught him about hitting and I kind of wish we’d see if he’s interested in coaching. I’d link the video but he gets colorful with the language on today’s players approach. So it’s not just us fans who dislike the launch...

Nolan Ryan threw 235 pitches in 13 innings 51 years ago today

When I was a kid pitchers weren’t even allowed to throw off speed stuff for a long time. I wonder if kids are throwing a full array of pitches now too at early ages and getting hurt. Seems like all levels are more focused on maximizing success now instead of taking the patient route. Middle...

I’m really disappointed in the regression of Albies and Harris especially. They looked like potential All-Star players who would play solid Defense and hit in the .275 - .280 range at least. They are closer to the Mendoza line than .300 Riley and Ozuna should flirt with .300 or higher. They...

I’m in the camp that I don’t want the pitchers throwing as hard as they can every pitch. It’s just so shortsighted and unnecessary and these guys are ruining their careers and longevity. Smoltz is a perfect example of a guy who had really good stuff but didn’t need to throw over 95-97 or so...

I watched that Liberty bowl so many times as a kid. I was too young to remember it when it was played but my Pop Pop was big into VHS and Beta in the 80s and he taped every single game that was televised. He would let me watch them when I came over to visit and that’s how I watched a lot of...

JessN: Alabama Preview - 2025 Roster Rundown: Quarterbacks

He’s got some of the early Career Mac ‘Dawg’ in him. Super Competitive by nature but has better self control now. Talent wise I see AJ wrt to his passing ability but with the mobility and elusiveness of Manziel/Bryce. If Ty plays within himself and has developed a short memory to move on from...

Harris has an OBP of .248 At what point does his defense not excuse his plate discipline? Albies and Allen are also under .300 in OBP Acuna is the only player over .400 in OBP and at that he’s over .500 We have way too many mediocre to terrible hitting players on this team. I’m ready to rip...

Bad all around. Sale got injured because of giving extra effort and now in hindsight a Blind Snitker found an acorn and was right to pull him.

That was one of my favorite games as a kid. Seeing Barker outduel Zeier was awesome. I was lucky enough to have taped it on VHS and I watched it probably more than any other game I had at the time other than the ‘93 Sugar Bowl.

Agree with all of that. I’m most excited for people to really see how elusive this kid can be. He will extend broken plays too and either get the ball to a WR on the run or he will take off and be 15-20 yards + down the field before the defense can blink. This kid is like Houdini.

100% agree about the ‘93 Tenn game. That felt like as close to being a Win as possible and for Tenn it felt like a loss.

I see he’s already thrown 50 pitches in less than 3 innings. That’s pretty standard though. Even if he gets back to his top form he’ll always be a 5-6 IP starter He can be great but I want more from someone who’s supposed to be an Ace. I hate the over reliance on Middle relief in today’s...

That’s my #1 worst game attended. They looked horrible in warmups and just lollygagged around the field like it wasn’t even game day. Nobody on our team showed up. I believe that was Miss St’s only Conference win the entire season. I was miserable the car ride home and wanted Shula fired...
