An overall Assessment (so far) of the 2020 Class

Saban is a defensive coach. So he must recognize this, if it is true. So, why hasn’t he done something about it?

An overall Assessment (so far) of the 2020 Class

Does someone have a list of the juniors that left early for the NFL over the past several years?

Alabama’s Run/Pass percentage necessary to win the National Championship

My worry is we score quickly, and they score with long drives that wears our defense out by the end of the third quarter. We need to score, but our run game needs to contribute substantially to rest our defense. A lot of 3 and outs is obviously very hurtful to both staying in the game and...

Anyone else as confident in Mac as I am?

I suspect those 2 drops were caused by the opposite spin from Mac’s right hand vs Tia’s left hand.

Question: What will fix our OL problems?

The most worrying thing to me was when I watched the OL near the goal line on run plays. We didn’t charge out. Instead, we stood nearly straight up and got pushed back. Hard to understand why this should be our strategy against a much smaller DL. Anyone else notice this? Surely they...

News Article: SI's Top 10 coaches of all time

I believe Frank Thomas was the coach that first put us on the National scene. He was CPB’s coach and had a winning percentage nearly identical to CPB. Bama would not be Bama without him.

    2019 Spring Practice Thread

My first question is why didn’t some of our so-called elite staff consultants identify this tendency as a weakness likely to be exploited by better defenses prior to the game? And, why couldn’t our highly compensated coaching staff see the problem during the game? We’re...

Question: Clemson Defensive Linemen Breathing Oxygen on Bench

Did anyone else notice the Clemson defensive linemen breathing oxygen when not in the game, while the Bama defensive linemen did not appear (at least on TV) to be doing so? Do you think this was an administrative oversight by our staff? Or did I just miss something?

Looking like the following for assistants...

My bad. You are correct. The article I read was from 3 days ago by Ron Evans, titled "Alabama Football: Past Nick Saban presser may explain what went wrong in 2018". I did not catch the word "Past" in the title, only listened to the video.

Looking like the following for assistants...

CNS said in a recent speech that a big difference in 2018 is that our coaches did not develop relationships with our players. I assume this is at least a significant contribution to the turnover in on field staff.

Nice Note on Jalen Hurts at OU

I agree completely with your post. It seems some here are splitting hairs and reaching at straws to negatively interpret the original and followup post. Where is the class in any of that - definitely not consistent with philosophies of Bear, Stallings, and Saban.

Nice Note on Jalen Hurts at OU

Don’t get so easily turned off. I, for one, am certainly interested in occasional posts regarding inside info about how Jalen is adjusting/doing at OU. Your first post on this subject is appreciated, and I am especially interested in Jalen’s performance during spring competition.

Jim Chaney leaves Georgia for UT

I suspect Kirby holds tight reins on how wide open an offense he is willing to tolerate. Similar to CNS until this year. Could have some impact on his willingness to move to 10erc.

    UGA Class Ranking

Absolutely not!! Bama grad of 69 and 72 in engineering and a fan since I first saw Namath come off the bench to score winning TDs against Auburn. Not sure what I said to give you that impression. Just my nature to be curious about the competition.

    UGA Class Ranking

My bad - you're exactly correct B13, I should have said committed, not signed. But the committed are what 247Sports are counting in their class rankings. So, the point still holds - they "may" have more room to add commitments and eventual signees. However, you are also correct on the point...
