Was I the only one chuckling last night when Big Tom was voted off? Lord, was the man actually dumb enough to think Rob & Amber would protect him??

Loved his exit quote: "Pull that knife out of my back ... Gosh, I'm mistaken, there's two knives back there. It's Rob and Amber. But I'm gonna be on that jury. And the stick is gonna be in my hands."

And what I don't understand is why the others haven't voted off either Rob or Amber when they had the chance, as in, when Rob didn't have immunity. Duh!!! Also, in my opinion, Rob will stab Amber in the back as soon as it is to his advantage, and also that she would/will do likewise.

Rupert, Jenna and Big Tom should have gotten together and voted off Amber and broken up that little alliance.

The show directors didn't show some of the critical negotiations that had to have gone on. First of all, Rupert did offer a deal to Big Tom where they would vote off either Rob or Amber. They showed Tom and Rupert arguing in the water while Rob grinned and they showed Rob getting on Big Tom. Big Tom should have run right back to Rupert and Jenna then and there and said he was down for giving Amber the boot. Then Big Tom would have made the final 4.

Don't forget this Sunday starting at 7PM CST the 2 hour final of Survivor followed by the reunion show.

And for all of you who don't like Survivor. Please don't feel the need to jump in this thread and say how much you don't like it. Just skip it.

Thanks guys, that's what the remote control is for to select another channel. Some of us like watching Survivor and you can watch Cartoon Network or the Weather Channel 24/7 if that's what cranks your tractor.

[Getting back to discussing the actual show]

I think that on Sunday night, the first tribal council is going to end in a 2-2 tie. More than likely, Rupert and Jenna will vote together, and Rob and Amber will vote together. How they've handled ties has varied over the years. They started out using previous votes, but the last time it ended in a tie, they drew rocks to see who would go home. It will be interesting to see how they settle this tie if it does indeed in a tie. In any event, I think that the one person from the alliance that gets broken up who survives the first tribal council will just about have to win the second immunity challenge in order to have a shot at the final 2.

Something interesting I noticed last night in the previews for the next show: There was one time when they showed three of the survivors lined up next to each other (It looked like they were lining up for a challenge), and Amber was the missing person. For all we know, Amber could have just not been in the picture at the time, but it made me wonder exactly when in the show the footage in that clip occured because that could suggest that Amber is voted off in the first tribal council.

One thing is for certain: As always, it should be an interesting finale!

Ugh -- Amber and Boston Rob. I should have known. Jenna should have taken her chances with the colored rock.

Interesting next Thursday -- I'm rooting for Rupert to win the next million!!!

Agree BL - Jenna should have. I've already voted for Rupert to get the other million dollars.

So Rob - the snake in the grass - gets the girl and $500,00, plus they have two new cars between them. And probably as soon as it suits Rob, he'll stab Amber in the back, and take off for greener pastures. He doesn't know the meaning of keeping an alliance, most probably in any facet of his stinking life.

Rupert works the hardest and is the most fair person in Survivor. I sincerely hope he receives the other million dollars.

Rupert is who I am pulling for too.

I could not believe how dumb the final few Big Tom, Rupert and Jenna played the game siding with Boston Rob and Amber.

There was no way Jenna could beat Boston Rob and Amber in winning immunity. Her only chance was the drawing of the color. She had a 50/50 chance there and none the other way and was too stupid to figure something that simple out.

Oh well, do not forget to go to "cbs.com" and vote for Rupert to win the million dollars. The line is open until Wesday at midnight.

How true, this was very frustrating to watch but I saw it coming a few weeks ago.

My sentimental favorite has been Rubert, although he did pull some bonehead stunts.

With that said, Rudy made a pretty good case for himself on the Morning Show this morning, saying if he won he would donate $500,000 to the families of soldiers killed in the war. He is also a man of his word.

Right on!!

Then what would these insecure Americans watch while they sit around and eat McDonald's and get fat(ter)???

</font>
Somebody twisting your arm and making you watch reality shows - huh? Guess what? It's none of your business what other people watch on TV, and it's also none of your business what other people eat. Just take care of yourself and the rest of us will take care of ourselves. And what makes you think people are necessarily fat? BTW, nobody is insecure b/c they watch certain TV shows. You don't know what other shows we watch, what books we read, etc.

funny thing to comment that people who watch are insecure.....its not as if fans of the show ever feel the need to attack non fans...always the other way around. id say that places the complex squarely on the backs of the non fans who feel the need to post nothing other than a jab at the show and those who watch.

as for Robs class.....its not a game of class. all those played, or claimed to play, with class were sitting on a jury and not in the final 2. frankly, everyone knew Rob and Amber would take each other to the final 2 and every player who sided with them, protected one of them, or didnt take advantage of an opportunity to vote one of them off were foolish and they paid the price for it. namely, the shot a million $ and at 2 shots at new cars (Shiiann excluded since Amber gave her one).

also, id like to point out again just how silly it is bother posting negative things about various shows. i personally dont like sitcoms because you always see the ending waaaaaay before its over (especially Friends) but posting that the show is stupid or that the shows fans are stupid would be pointless and would be stupid of me.

I just voted off a couple of the stupid replies to this thread.

If you don't like Survivor, start your own "I don't like Survivor thread".

Through 8 seasons Survivor has attracted a following of 20 million viewers average. The high has been over 24 million and the low at just over 18 million viewers. All that directly competing against the popular show Friends on another network. There are not many reality shows I do like but I do admit an addiction to Survivor and I also watch American Idol. I do not like the way the voting is done on American Idol though.

The most recent poll on Survivor shows Rupert will win the second million by a landslide. I liked Rupert but also agree he never did seem to want to take charge of his destiny. He made some other bone head moves but who didn't. Rupert was a threat in challenges, he did more than his share of work, he kept his word, he made strong alliances, and this is what made him the one person nobody wanted to go against in the final tribal council. This time he was able to make it to the final 4. I also think Jenna had a better chance if she had pulled rocks from the bag.

Like Rob or not, he did play the game his way and made it all the way to the final two. Just like Johnny Fairplay from Survivor Pearl Islands, he was the player you loved to hate. How would the votes gone if it had been Jenna against Amber? The jury said Jenna would have won even as irritating as she had been.

Lex was bitter, Cathy was bitter but got over it, Big Tom was bitter and I think really wanted to smack Rob, Jerri was........Jerri, Richard was still gay, and the rest didn't have a problem with the way the game played out.

I wonder where then next series will be? I do hope there is not another All-Star series.

I think those who enjoy watching Survivor and The American Idol like those shows because of the competition. (Some of us particularly like music so The Idol interests us very much). We like to see how it's done. I very well may NOT like the way some of the survivors go about winning, (e.g. Rob), but nevertheless that's part of it, and so be it. We all have our favorites, and I think most people really do like Rupert because of his hard work, honesty, keeping alliances, etc.

That said, anyone who doesn't like either of those shows don't have to watch them, and don't have to read this thread.

When I first became a member of Tide Fans, I wandered into the Fetchers thread not knowing what it was. I didn't like it, and was told to stay out if I didn't like it. So I did! 'Nough said!!!
