I am puzzled. He says Fitzgerald will be an issue, yet he only has them scoring 16? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you do the math on the spread (25) and over/under (52) the 16 is close what Vegas is looking for out of them. Just looking for about 38 from us. We may not cover but I think this is a 3 score game with Fitzgerald getting a TD in garbage time against primarily the 3’s.

Honestly a shut out would not surprise me.
State only scored three (in the first quarter)against LSU. I think LSU’s post-Bama-game comments were heard loud and clear and I think another “statement” game is now less than two days away.
I think this is a team that’s focused, not thoroughly beat up like in years past, and on a mission.
35-0

Saban said in his PC that focus was an issue. Hopefully they can get their focus before Saturday afternoon.

Oh - didn’t hear that.
That’s not good.

I think going back to the entire Coach Saban era, and Bama has had problems (physical and mental) against MSU when it comes the week after LSU, physically beaten up and emotionally drained.
Hope this is the exception. (Hangover games in blue)

In 2014 MSU came in #1 in the nation so you can't really say that was a hangover game. MSU scored on the next to last play of the game to make it a one score game.

That's a fair point. Thanks.
Sometimes, Bama just comes out lethargic.
And then again, there are years in which Bama just crushes the Bulldogs.

One of the things I haven’t seen a lot of talk about is the matchup of Bama’s WR’s and MSU’s DB’s. If Tua has anytime they are going to torch them. The TE matchup is also very favorable with their LB’s. I think this is being undervalued. The OL has given ample time all year, and I don’t expect that to be a lot different this game either. I know MSU has a really good DL, but this is one of the best pass protection OL’s in the nation. MSU hasn’t played a line the caliber of Bama especially with the change at guard. That seems to have solidified the line. I see WR runnning wild Saturday. Ruggs is playing and Smith should be almost totally ready. Waddle and Jeudy are GONNA EAT!!!

Alabama's offensive line has taken a big step forward ever since Deonte Brown was inserted at left guard. But that unit will face stiff tests against State and Auburn.

Personally, I'd like for us to let off the gas some. State doesn't have enough weapons to make this game that interesting. If we get a lead of 17 or more, early, I would let up some. A close game that is won by 10-14 points isn't going to raise any eyebrows. The post season matchup with Georgia is set, and the winner of that goes to the CFP. It's a must win, and it's more important than almost anything we will have done until that point, except....

The Iron Bowl. No one that calls themselves a Bama fan will settle for anything less than a full throttle beatdown of the Tigers. If we get to 30, keep going. If we get to 40. Keep going. If we get to 50, keep going. I want to have them be fully embarrassed and beaten down. Don't let them even be close. I don't doubt a win over State or Citadel, and I'll sacrifice our guys playing very limited in order to ensure FULL HEALTH and potential against Auburn. They have ruined us at 11-0 several times before, and 2013 is so real in my memory still, that it needs to be a complete and utter curb stomping. No let up, no regrets.
